what did the oval look like at the ground as it looks a bit brown n dry on the telly more so in the 4 day game than today but Adelaide used to alway be a lush green.

Sitting 2 metres from the ground I can tell you the surface looked pretty average.

Pathetic performance by SA, leaving out Klinger was staggering, soon as I heard that I had a bad feeling. Manou batting at 4= comedy.

Surely Klinger being left out is a mistake that won't be repeated.

Didnt notice it to be honest. It will have alot to do with water restrictions.

The top order is interesting now that James Smasherith has announced himself last SS game

1 HARRIS
2 SMITH
3 KLINGER
4 COSGROVE
5 BORGAS
6 MANOU
7 CHRISTIAN
8 OBRIEN
9 HABERFIELD
10 TAIT
11 GEORGE
12TH MAN COOPER

SMITH must play
That leaves COOPER/BORGAS possible 12th man
Both on last years form would be stiff to miss out
COOPER would even out the top order and allow KLINGER to bet 3 + COSI 4

Those dreary Tasmanian SS batters will be revitalised if DIGHTON and BIRT are selected
They are 2 extremely dangerous batsman

BIRT who does not get a gig in SS is a brilliant brilliant one day and 20 over blinkbash star
Mark my words when Mick Clarke becomes a 20 over liability for AU , my boy Travis Birt will take his spot
BIRT is good enough to play 50 over cricket for AU
AU won the tournament in SA becoz the pitches are AU like
But we need a man who hits spinners into grandstands, ala Birt

Who will win ?
TIE

BIRT
68* [68]
STRIKE RATE 100

Career 1522 runs @33-82
Strike rate of 88.2
17 zacs last season !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How long can the AU selectors ignore this amazingly talented cricketer in the shorter games

Jamie Cox was asked why KLINGER was 12th man
He explained it was to give Smith a game
So how did Borgas and Cooper get a game in front of Klinger ?
And how could our keeper bat in front of COOPER and BORGAS
MANOU might even be batting below OBRIEN and CHRISTIAN as well

Lets hope the selectors dont have a brain fade and make the same mistakes next game v QL

KLANGER!! I watched 513 this morning and Klinger couldn't believe it when he wasn't selected yesterday. Smith got the gig but played like a young man under pressure. So not only have the Backs dropped a Franger match but Smith might have lost some invaluable confidence that was hard earnt in the Shield match. Not a good look!

Why would it have to do with water restriction as Adelaide Oval would be using Bore Water for watering as most grounds in the state would be doing.

S Tait... is he nearly done??
still has massive heart issues IMO.. if he hasnt already lost the respect of the cricketing world, he will after this season..
if he can only fire up after taking a wicket he should retire from that level.. he seems the type how would get off on scaring blokes in a lower grade..

If he's only capable of mid 130's now he'll struggle.

its too early to say after 1 game back but he certainly didnt look anything like shaun tait at his best. his pace was down and didnt swing the ball much either so if the batsmen get a good sight of him he will leak runs unless he can up the pace a bit more or get some movement

TAIT
Resumimg from a long spell, needed the run
I would assess his form after a few games
With Klinger getting dropped after making 70 in his last O/d game perhaps TAIT bowled 3/4 pace instead of full tilt to ensure getting picked again ....

You got me there. Anyway I went to the cricket to watch the cricket not to watch the grass grow, although, at times that wouldve been more interesting.

I would like to see a couple of changes for the next match v QLD. The obvious (Klinger for Borgas) and Putland (assuming hes fit) for George. Dont think George is a 1 day bowler at the moment as he doesnt have too much variation while Putland offers that something different (being a left-armer). My side: Harris, Smith, Klinger, Cosgrove, Cooper, Manou, Obrien, Christian, Tait, Haberfield, Putland, Borgas (12th man)

Our batting line up is in trouble if Tait is coming in at 9 regularly!
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run
