Well there we go, I'm wrong again 8) . I thought he was having two weeks off after the GF.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

A wonderful night for the club.
Club Champion - Mark Mckenzie
Runner Up - Jarad Allmond
3rd - Luke Jarred
equal 4th - Matthew Broadbent and Ken McGregor.

3 Life Governors in attendance presenting awards in Bob Hank, Lindsay Head and Andrew Rogers.

Great to have all the U18, Reserves and League presentations together.

Fabulous turn out of sponsors and members.

Fantastic presentations to Mark Passador and Ron Fuller - some great stories told.

Also the words from Ron Fuller tonight were great as he spoke from the heart as to what the club means to him especially as he takes on his new challenge in 2009.

For me the highlight was the most emotional presentation of the 2009 MVP. The Board decided to add to the MVP the name of Jamie Tape in that our MVP is now awarded the Jamie Tape Medal.
The presentation to Justin Cicolella by Jamie's Dad with the Tape family present was really a wonderful moment - not a dry eye in the house, and becomes something very special in the culture of the WWTFC.

CD

What is the criteria to receive the Life Governor's Award? Is it something to do with service at the Club?

Mark McKenzie most deserved winner of the Club Champion IMO.

I was a little surprised to see Allmond as the runner up but I don't know how it is awarded and what the voting structure is. But I would have given it to Broadbent.

Hopefully Allmond can build on this and go forward next year

Or always stuck on the rookie list of a Melbourne based club ala Sam Jacobs.

The match committee award from 0 - 4 points for each player for their match efforts. As Jarrad Allmond was one of only three players to play all 20 minor round games plus two finals and also having an ultra consistent season he had a very good chance to finish high up in the B&F.

I thought that it was 0-5 with 5 being exceptional, but there were no 5 games given this year but there were some 4's given.

The scoring system is as said above 0 to 5 points with 5 being exceptional performance - rarely see a five. Basically 3 is winning position, 2 break even on day - you can work out the rest.

The Life Governors award is about the team thing by the player with the best defensive action being a key factor no matter where he plays.
