NT Thunder very keen to talk to Josh Cubillo now that he is out of contract at Sturt. Stuey Totham ex-Sturt CEO and now CEO of NT Thunder would obvioulsy have a good idea of what Josh is on and what it would take to match Sturt. Josh having finished his teaching degree may not be adverse to going home.

Sturt dhould be thankful Patty Fittock has two years to go as NT Thunder are after
key position players which is what Patty would be for them.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Most people will probably say that they have no hope of breaking into the Dogs league side but you never know, many wouldn't have thought Ware, Slattery, Jenner and Nason would have done as well as they have. So goodluck to these two lads.

I would have thought Jenner and Slattery have underperformed since being at elizabeth, that may be a bit harsh on Slattery though.

Zac Miller is the enigma.

Slattery played in the premiership team in his only complete season with us and Jenner was stiff to be dropped for the GF due to players returning from injury. I wouldn't call this underperforming.
We used to be good :-(

Yes , the Eagles in the Fuller / Stevens / Fantalaftos era almost perfected the " not delivered " aspect of recruiting ; they were scary good especially in 08 ....... ah the memories of Gogel at full back ..... what a day , even Fuller was enjoying it so much , he left him on old man Hargreaves for a full bollocking of 10 goals . Its really great sadness all three amigos are gone ..... ah well theres always Little Britain repeats on tv !

I remember the B & F a few years ago. Slatts was leading for quite a while until he got injured. I think Jenner played all but one or two games this year. Pretty good effort given the strength of the side. Not exceptional, but still good for the team.

If Skipworth is to play anywhere I dare way it would be back with the Eagles, especially as his cousin plays there

Any comments from North fans regarding the prospect of Skipworth playing in the SANFL again?

I think you'll find he'll end up over in the WAFL Mickyj, but I reckon he would be a good ruckman at SANFL level...

Will be interesting if Nick Lower and Jon Giles, both delisted by the Power, get picked up by another AFL club and if not, will they stay with their respective SANFL clubs, Norwood and Central ?

All this chat about recruits to Norwood has me somewhat bemused... wasnt Norwood the club that was found guilty of breaching salary cap rules and fined and barred from recruiting anyone for next season by the sanfl.....?
someone please correct me if I'm wrong. :?

My understanding is that Skipworth is quite highly regarded as a mentor amongst the playing group at Essendon, if that is so, he could well go to South, yet perhaps in a coaching role as opposed to a playing role. Ron will no doubt be choosing his Assistant Staff and it could be that he sees some merit in an appointment like that?

why not as a playing & assistant coach ? (at either south or wwt)

WWT have signed Jason Torney as their Assistant Coach, yet I am not sure if the other coaching staff at WWT are to stay on or if Godden will clear the decks and name his own list that he wants to coach at the club. With his injury problems I dont think he will be in a position to play next season, yet I do think he is a strong chance to coach either at WWT or South if there is an appropriate vacancy.

No certainty I understand. Chasing the biggest $$$$$$ I believe and the eagles won't be throwing all their eggs in skipworths basket.

I have heard that due to a mistake in the wording of the penalty by the SANFL Investigating Officer there is a gap between the date that ends their suspension from recruiting outside of thier zone and the closure date for clearances for this season hence they still can recruit this year - all be it with a late start ;) - Please any Norwood supporter correct me.

I think that's right mate, but I also think you'll find (whether intentionally or otherwise) Norwood will adhere to the spirit of that ban ... Things could change I guess, but word out of the club is that in-house development as opposed to recruiting is the go for next season.
