Over 72.6: Christian to Geeves, no run, OUT, plays back trying to turn to leg, hit on the pad, appears a little high but umpire Fry likes it and Tas are now 7/176

Over 76.4: Christian to Butterworth, no run, OUT, short and wide, cracked hard to point and Smith dives low to his right and takes a blinder - 8/177, the third top drawer catch in the innings by the Redbacks

lets not bleed to many runs

Duval now 2/39 off 24 - after young Tassie keeper Brady Jones smacked him for a big six.

Tas 8/213 off 91 overs.

Jones 27*

Come on boys finish them off!

Cossie just removed Denton. 9/221.

That was a 44 run stand as well, we can not afford to let that happen for the last wicket.

Give the boys ago, too early to start the Redback bashing. Who wouldn't have taken all out for 236 before a ball had been sent down!!
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

Nah your right there, i was only saying because we had them 8 for not many, should have polished the tail.

As for the batting the redbacks over previous seasons have been notorious for shocking batting collapses even chasing low totals

Smith 34*

A 50 run opening stand to open the "summer" - pretty amazing stuff.

Without being disrespectfool
And mindja every cricketer Ive seen play in the last 2 days SA V TA are better cricketers than what I ever was
But there is not an exciting player in the teams that could be a very good Test Cricketer
I saw 2 players today who could play tests on ability and they were both watching this game Tim Paine And Shaun Tait

SA bowling attack, all bowlers took wickets
GEORGE.....could be a sensation
CLEARY....honest and gives it all
DUVAL.....looked good this game but still have question marks on him
CHRISTIAN...getting enough wickets but on flat decks might get clobbered
OBRIEN....honest spinner, but not threatening
COSGROVE...part time bowler at best

Apart from Peter George who might become a big name player the rest dunno

WELLS COWAN DOOLAN BAILEY MARSH BUTTERWORTH KREZJA JONES GEEVES DENTON MCDONALD

No potential long term Test cricketers in that lot either

A SS for these 2 teams looks highly unlikely

The rebuilding of the stands with all the industrial noise was offputting today

Not even Klinger? Albeit hasn't batted yet, but he showed by his form last year that if he was given a Test berth, that he could perform.
