Dont worry about thorpe he is a very good footballer even when played in southeren league. He would easy rise to being a top 10 player is central league if kangas went in

I havent seen to many players in DIV 2 that could be in the top 10 in DIV 1, thats why its DIV 2 for the second ranked players, and DIV 1 for the 1st grade players in the hills, Chad Dawe is about the only guy i know and have seen who could kick 50+ or go close to winning a mail medal in DIV 1.

Poor kids!!!!!

The bloke can seriously coach. Sounds like sour grapes to me that he has left your club DA.

Nah, I'm mates with Capper. Played a lot of footy and cricket with him.

I was taking a stab at the fact he's so intense!

You'll love him until he cracks a spastic and shifts clubs.....again!!!!!

between footy and cricket he has played with more clubs that Tiger Woods!!!

Didn't Coad kick more than 50 for Lobey this year? He came from Div 2.

sorry dale your logic is beyond me. Dosent matter what division you play, some players perfer to play with mates but are good enough to even play league footy like dawes. Thorpes older brother was a even bigger gun but he stayed at kangys. Every league club and a couple of afl clubs whated him but he was happy where he was.

I dont see it, i do not see how a player from DIV 2 can be any good, unless he is a outsider from another club, but someone who is a born and bred div two player is never any good. NEVER

even though this was years ago JOHN PYM captained mt.torrens in div 2 he also captained the association side being one of only 2 div 2 players in the side. he then went on to play league footy with woodville :D

i can go back to another time when the hills had 4 divisions. with div 1 being the best div2 was north and div3 was south of div 1. div4 was made up of various teams around these other divisions. they had association games between each div of which div 3 beat div1 in the final. :D

it is called div 2 because the standard of teams is not as good as div 1. Doesnt mean that one player may be so far ahead of his teammates.

special k, you are totally niave. just because a player comes from say, kersbrook, doesnt mean they dont have huge abilty. the james brothers come from kersbrook, a div 2 club. look where brett james ended up.
there are other players from other div 2 clubs that have had the ability to play sanfl. pope from macclesfield spent time with sth adelaide.
just because there is a difference in standards with the 2 divisions, doesnt mean an above average player cant come from div 2.
did you need a ladder to get up on your high horse???

There are plenty of good div 2 footballers who would make it as div 1 footballers in teams with more good footballers and depth surrounding them. It's the lack of numbers in towns that have 300-500 people compared to 1500+ were the standards drop away.

Can give you plenty of examples Special K - Scott Burns, Peter Vivian, Sudjai Cook, Kane Paues who went to Nuri at around 30 and was consistently in best players, Matt Scott when he went to MinMan in mid 90's and finished 2nd or 3rd in Mail Medal. And plenty the other way around, blokes like Daniel Fox and Nigel Melling who were gun colts at div 1 clubs, and they've ended up in div 2 while still in their prime years.

How true is it that Devils Have started pre season (unofficially)?.Maybe this is the case because they have true club men none of these football journey men chasing the coin.everyone thinks the devils are made of money but truth be know they want more flags and not worried about the cash.A few devils have been offered huge money to move clubs but have refused for success.

You have named 10 people who can play a bit. The general standard in DIV 2 is shocking, i would pick the devils "super Bs" to beat every team bar maybe just maybe Kangarilla.

nobody here is disagres with you on that point, we are just saying that maybe one or two players in div 2 would be top players in div 1

Devils have started preseason. Bugger cricket - we want more footy!

The Devils boys are staying put not for money or success, but becasue everyone at the club are good mates. HFL is all about playing footy with your mates, and in our case, winning with your mates!
