I just hope teams can fill sides or we might just all forfeit and have a day off to watch the test. I won't miss a day's action after the last ashes series left us wanting more with the close results. [/quote]
Maybe we should all agree to forfeit, and then go to the local of your choice and watch it on the big screen. Could get a bit messy, hope i've got the sunday off of work!

Charlton have the best opening bowling attack in the competition.
Strudwick and Whillas are unplayable and constantly unsettle batsmen.
Whos getting paid in Port Linoln cricket this year? besides Guorlay

There was a vote at a meeting as to whether we wanted a bye for the test weekend. Majority were in favour of a week off, and so it went back to the clubs to vote. I wasn't at the next meeting but when I came back I heard that this idea had been scrapped. I think it's a joke that we can't get the week off. Extend the season by 1 week if we have to! I wouldn't be surprised at all if SES have to forfeit that round as I know at least 6 who will be going over for it.

We got you again at wangary on the 25th Nov so we will have to plan a big night for that night as well. Looking forward to a few longnecks.

I have a gut feeling that match has been rescheduled to somewhere in Lincoln??? I could be wrong but I know we were losing one of our home matches.

OL you are absolutely correct, Struddy and Rainbow are by far the best opening bowling pair in this competition. And in regards to player payments, money under the table is rife, we could not match what lincoln souths offered Gourlay,Tasmans offered him 2dollars a run,5bucks a wicket and 3bob a catch. And the fact that we payed rhino a lump sum of $500 bucks a few weeks ago to stop him from going to charlton ,plus all the meal vouchers per player every win at the pier,50% off all cricket gear at sportscene it was clearly obvious that we just could not fit him in our salary cap this year.
But let me fill u in on a little secret OL,and youve got to promise me that you wont tell anyone, the agenda behind us not matching souths offer was so that it could free up our salary cap, so that we could have enough money to pay for luke yancics knee operation in return he plays for tasmans.
PUMA u should be ashamed

haloman wrote:What I do know is Bystander you as A grade captain were asking the likes of myself, Roy Todd, Robbie Maddern etc.. to play in your A grade that year whilst young Jeanchey was running around in the B's. No wonder he left. As for trying to help the kid!!! WTF...... I reckon if you asked him, his old man, his mum or anyone else who knows him they'd tell you SES might just have you covered in that department. Think of the group he was training and playing with then at Charlton. Don't forget too bystander that me playing cricket for Charlton that year was done as a personal favour to you and Ash and only because you were struggling for numbers then. So perhaps not too smart a move broadcasting someones stats who rearly trained and really didn't care. Will be interesting to see what happens the next time Charlton are desperately short of players. You might have to give Emma a game because she might be the only one willing to.

Get your facts straight Haloman, 1. Roy Todd was never asked to play A's as we already had a keeper (Jim Stocky), 2. Why shouldn't Rob MADDEN play A's, yeah he's getting on a bit, but still baffles a few, and can hold an end up with the bat, hell he was keener than mustard last week. 3. Yes you were ASKED, (NOT FORCED) to play A's, purely on what you used to be, (so i am and was told, very good, (apparently not)). As far as Jaenchy goes the year i was refering to was well b4 you came to CCC, not sure of the exact year but would've been Ben's last year of Colts i reckon, possibly 02/03. AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN we wish him all the best of luck. Just for the record Ben played 5 A-Grade games in 04/05 for a total of 10 runs. P.S. Post my baseball stats if it makes you feel better. Soggy Biscuit! :D

Roy was asked to play twice that season bystander but knocked you back both times. Rob Maddern is a great club man who I'm sure would have been happy to play in the B grade to let the young fella have more of a go. All I said was the bloke was a little hard done by at Charlton and he was. Any time anyone says anything even slightly derogitory torwards Charlton it seams as though you decide to get all defensive. It's never Charlton's fault. All sporting clubs make mistakes bystander, even yours. Ben has had the final say anyway. I know he doesn't hold a grudge towards Charlton and I'm sure he doesn't hold one toward yourself. But he's now playing at a club who can teach him things and he'll be a better cricketer because of it. Charlton is a different club now than what is was back then. Back then there wasn't really anyone around him in the B's to teach him anything. I wouldn't post your baseball stats on here either bystander cause I don't do that to guys who do me a favour by playing.

Yes I think the league got this decision wrong. That is what the delegates are there for to vote on these issues and if they want to play then there isn't much we can do. Haven't heard about the change in location for that game. Not sure why they would change that after the program has been drawn up.
SUDSY, thanks for the write up on my financial position. I need an accountant, would you be interested!! I would like to thank the Tasman CC for supporting me last year and buying a flag is what it is all about. Don't tell the Taxman!!
Heard that the Tumby boys have a footy trip planned for this weekend so they might be struggling to field sides. Hope they can as it would be a waste of time driving there not to play.
See you at the Tumby at some stage eags as I will come down for a score check at some stage during the day.
In's for LSCC, Greasy Symonds back in so nearly full strength which is great second game of the year.
Any of the 6 that missed out back for you this week Eags??
Sudsy, Any sign of Rhino at tasman's this week??

Tumby Ramblers were worst hit by footy trip and we definitely have a side this week. Shouldn't keep Souths boys out of pub too long though, as long as we bat first! Four (and maybe five) of top six batsmen out and not much batting ability to cover them with (except J Anesbury).
Power on!

I'm pretty sure the game that has been changed out at Wangary is the Wayback's/SES A-Grade on the 11th of November. To tie in with our 60th year celebrations.

Colts just got over the line against us at Mortlock. We just managed to scrape together 11 players (only had 7 Sat morning!) We made 7/246 and Colts hit a boundary off the 4th ball of the last over to win. Just shows what can happen when outfields are kept short!!! Nearly 500 runs in 90 overs.

Good investment by the Souths boys getting Puma back ... 150 on Saturday and at the rate u were knocking em down at the Seabreeze u might've given that a crack in schooners by the end of the night!!! $1000 for winner of the Club Challenge should help with match payments!!!!

Sorry eags, no idea.
We batted first, 10/200, were cruising for a while but then 6/3 killed that. Bowled Tod River out for 152. Rainbow got 1, Luke Strudy got 2, young Chris Strudy got 2, Luke Harder got 1, & i cleaned up the tail.
