Would be a fair chance Mitchell Pk don't bat very well and i think they have lost about 5 players from their section 1 side of last year. They will be in div 3 next year i think.

Plympton 9-197 def South Rd 8-134
Naismith 75
Johns 47
McCann 38
Moore 4/18
Good win 1st up for plympton all be it against a very average South road outfit. Looks like it could be a long year for south rd. Lots of old heads and only 2 or 3 blokes under 25. Interestin note Carlton footballer Adam Hartlett played for South Rd today. Wouldnt expect him to play the whole season.

Fair Chance he will get delisted so he may well play the whole year with them. He can bat so he will be good for them.

Good start for Plympton.

I don't play A&SCA anymore, I was once the captain of a (then) new southern club in that comp who experienced the most disgraceful display by an opposition captain I've ever seen, only for it to be brushed under the carpet by the assoc president who is a life member at the same club.

We had our chance of winning today after a 75 run opening stand, we bowled ok, just needed a couple more to make a few runs. Mckay was the difference between the two sides.

Morphy's must have bowled very well today. I know they had a heap of clearances read out at the meeting last week. How many of these played A's?

Kruitle and Stanley both played sect 2 against our mob today, they should fit back in to the A grade next game.

The thing that annoys me most is that the exec committee of the assoc at the time kept a noose above my head and warned my club about future behaviour, despite them knowing the opposition captain ( JT ) lied at the tribunal.

I shouldn't, because it was season 95/96, the birth of the ICC, but I'd played a lot of cricket prior to that and was astounded by the garbage that followed my report.

only one recruit played a grade in ross brokenshire he mad 20 odd and took 3 wickets. Old man danny miller had them 2 for none in the first over and took his 400th wicket for the club. A couple of b graders from last year stepped up as well. good start and hopefully more to come.

Perhaps ICC can pull some batsmen out of their E grade in section 6 to bolster their batting? Made 3/334 in a one dayer - what a joke. 156* to one fella. thinking big fish in little ponds there. our guys arn't that bad for sect 6 either.
