The Power could play at Alberton. I suspect it would have the required capacity..Mickyj wrote: A bit of sarcastic fun here Adelaide to play at AAMII Stadium (footy park to u and me) well and truly near the traditional home of Port Adelaide.
And Port to play at an Oval Called Adelaide .MMMM
Does anyone else find that strange or funny ?
One outside the state would think it would be the other way around !!

I thought expunging Port was in the SANFL's best interest when they first tried to join the VFL and scuttled the independence of SA football and the player retention programme.automaticwicky wrote: Like Nurt? or Centrals?![]()

.... And the SANFL need to do whats in Ports interest, as a strong Port is in the SANFL's best interest.

Rewarding that behaviour with the second licence as a consolation prize was sheer stupidity.

What is sheer stupidity is that post. You are a total fool if you think Max Basheer and the SANFL little league would've ever joined the AFL without Port's daring mission to be first in. Well maybe by about 2015 or 2020 they might have become more progressive, but your precious little Crows wouldn't have their 2 flags if the move wasn't done when it was. To say Port didn't deserve the 2nd licence is just ridiculous, it's about as foolish as suggesting Norwood are a realistic alternative. Get over it Psyber you are sounding very small minded and it's time to move on.

Ruben, I was also opposed to the Crows being formed, and the SANFL licence to be part of the VFL being taken up.Ruben Carter wrote: What is sheer stupidity is that post. Interesting posts as I was talking about Port not being the only club back them trying to change horses mid stream so to speak with friends in Victoria.
They may well have "deserved" the second licence but we who have been left behind don't deserve what is called port adelaide magpies.Clearly they are the skeleton in the closet or the cousin no one talks about at Alberton.the treatment of the loyal black and white people by the teal wearers appears to be shocking to an outsider looking in at the once formidable giant.
And I have witnessed fans of both Ports fighting after another loss at alberton.
IMHO SANFL got this wrong !!

Lets see when I wanted to buy a ticket for the GS I found an elderly woman set up in the Power Rooms sitting at a card table. That is really professional.I know PAM have asked the Eagles not to sell raffle tickets in case Eagles fans would but magpies tickets as if that would happen.I have seen fights between both groups of fans over which Port Adelaide team owns Alberton oval. And don't say I haven't as I watched with my own eyes .
PAMFC should never have be born after the other Port Adelaide went into the AFL .They are struggling .
If they were a fair dinkum SANFL club Alberton would be a strong home base with every thing set up ready to roll .Not as it appears to us outsiders .
Don't get me wrong all us non Port Adelaide people enjoy going to Alberton and getting a win on the board .Seems just about every SANFL team can win there .
Mock me and others but it doesn't appear to be a happy place.

All kidding aside, auto, I agree with you here.automaticwicky wrote: No probs mate not suggesting it is all rosy at Alberton, but to say the treatment of Magpies fans by Power fans is shocking based on some isolated incidents is wrong. Do all Central supporters let off flares? Do all Crows supporters drink chardonnay? Hardly. Ya cant paint everyone or even the majority based on an isolated incident.
In hindsight i prob agree the PAMFC shouldnt been born, but having said that i wouldnt have been happy with that at the time. And i def would love to see Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
