Ross Lyon says they couldn't get a deal done with Collingwood so Luke Ball can either stay a Saint or go to PSD

Rumour that Daniel Bradshaw has retired

Collingwood must be the worst traders in history.

Want it to be all one way traffic.

Well yeah, a few people would tend to agree with you. They really do play hard ball and dont seem to budge much at all. Which in this case means no Luke Ball. Heck Melbourne might pick up Luke Ball if he wants to head into the PSD.

Am of the opinion that Ball will take his chances in PSD as he seems to be on outer at Saint Kilda because of his lack of pace. I'm not sure he even would have got picked for GF (I realise he ended up getting in best players) if the forecast before the game had been for a fine day.
Not sticking it up him as IMHO you need a couple of Luke Ball types in your 22 and would certainly love to have him in my side.
Unfortunate that he could possibly be remembered as the "Sam Bowie" of the 2001 AFL draft being taken at 2 ahead of Judd at 3. Was a brave choice by Thomas and his football department at the time given that Ball finished his schooling off in 2002 while Judd was already dominating at West Coast.

Will be interesting regarding Bradshaw as unless, as another poster has already mentioned, Voss has a different role for him in mind you couldn't see Fevola, Brown and Bradshaw in the same forward line the way the game is played now so if he has retired I'd say it's 'cos he's seen the writing on the wall.

This could be great news for the Demons. They lose McLean and get an uprade in Ball. If he goes to the PSD he'll be a Demon for sure. I reckon they'll be a fair side in the next couple of years but probably not quite ready in 2010.

Whats your opinion on this REB? do you reckon bally got the sh*ts at getting dropped to the magoos or is there something else to it, surely if it was the saints or the PSD he would stay put?

Has Ross Lyon said that the offer that was on the table for Ball has been removed?

The offer of a 3 year contract has been removed.

Lyon said, he will allow Ball to think about it for a while, and then talk about a new contract if he wants to stay at St Kilda

He could be on the outer like Maguire and Hudgton. Lyon appears to have a certain type of player he likes to play for the Saints and Bally doesn't appear to fit in with that profile. How many games did Ball get this year, eleven or something? Obviously the Saints would want something for him but Collingwood dropped the Ball. (sorry!)

My Crystal Ball was destroyed in the dust storm that hit the Swich last week so I don't know where he'll finish up but I hope he goes to the Dees as my son barracks for them and I reckon Bally is too good a player to only be playing half a season.

Melbourne will pick him up in the PSD. I mean why wouldnt you get a experiance midfielder with the ability of Ball?
Of course you would take him.
So for 2010 the dees start to look a little bit better, granted they have a long way to go but, they have some good kids there and will get another 2 young stars in the making adding in the experiance of Luke Ball and all of sudden they have something to work with.
