National Coverage

Postby sjt » Mon Oct 05, 2009 1:14 pm

Just picked up a copy of the Advertiser and also "had" to purchase The Australian. Taking up half the front page is a big photo of Chris and James and a big write up. In a little sub heading is mention of the NRL grand final. Maybe the history of yesterday as opposed to being viewed as boring (by two whinners) is being recognised.
It's great for the SANFL.
Unfortunately I'm not computer savvy enough to provide a link. Anyone?

Cheers Dutchy, I saw the headline for that story and just assumed it'd be about the draft, you'd think the Australian could at least give it a heading that mentions the GF.

I got the same shock at Meningie this morning.

Makes a change from the paper that never seems to be able to post full SANFL results but can give us all the details from the TAC U18s or AFL ACT.

Exactly. Just everyone wait until it's an Eagles vs West GF (not saying next year or any particular year) and you won't see a third of the coverage given this week.

Actually, there was a photo of Delta in a red, white and blue scarfe.

spelly - maybe Brian McFadden will jump on the Eagles or West bandwagon?

Don't you count on it! I've heard a rumour that due to CD's obsession with donuts Homer Simpson will be a guest in the crowd if the Eagles make another GF. Stuff national coverage, that'll get worldwide coverage!

I don't want him at the Eagles, so West can have him.

What sort of replies would I have got with this line?

"Just everyone see what happens when it's an Eagles vs West GF and you won't see a third of the coverage given this week."

I.e. Never in a million years?

Ah yes, that double edged sword - able to get a big crowd in, get more coverage to get more attendance
-unable to get big crowds, get no-one else to go along due to minimal coverage
