& club, 8 tickets per team, TTG would have snared 200 odd.

Now this point is fair. The old day when gate reciepts were published would make this interesting. We were offered
4 adults and 2 kids tickets for the boy being in a Rooster group for the pre-game stuff.
4 from my brother who works at GMH that were on offer out there .
4 adults and 2 kids from a Centrals group having a bbq in the carpark on the way in(bless em as the boy had North gear on for the pre game stuff,A Sturt group called the boy an "also ran" which really made his day) .
2 adults and 2 kids tickets from sister whose boy was in half time lap of winning school comps .
The question of did anyone actually pay is valid in assessing the crowd numbers.

Whether they pay for their tickets or not I think it was great to get that many there considering some people who get them don't use them or pass them on because they got them for nothing.

I remember the early days of the crows and my friends workmate ( a major sponsor) who was in charge of distributing CAT 1 members tickets to invitee's to the footy. It got all to hard for him so he left them in his draw in his office. Found out later he had over 200 Cat 1 tickets that laid there in his draw for half the season

hats off to the SANFL for giving free tickets out, sensational to see the crowd there, whether they paid or not is irrelevant cause they still had to make the effort to go, and if they are once a year SANFL goers then there will be a fraction that loved it and will go more next year...

One thing yesterday and last year confirmed that IF (big if) Sturt played Glenelg we would get over 40k easy

Do know that all mail medalists from around the state get 5 tickets given to them (I think partly to compensate for the motorcade not happening anymore). Not a huge number but a number I'll acknowledge none the less when it comes to free tickets.

It was outstanding, I didn't expect a big turn out like there was, similar or even less to 2002 was what I thought might happen. The SANFL is alive and well and hopefully the media will stay on it and give it as much focus as the two local AFL teams, I managed to catch up on all the sport sections in the Tiser from the last week and it was outstanding, you'd think the AFL didn't exist.

I was wondering for a while if the league was going to have egg on its faces by closing off those bays but I guess it would have been easy to open them up if the crowd got much bigger.

If Centrals run ends soon and we get a couple of clubs like Norwood playing off against Sturt, Glenelg etc theres no doubt it will hit 40k.

Even if there were a fair few free tickets doing the rounds, the league has had a massive win financially and promotion wise
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Wasn't sure of the clubs Sheik would've been surprised if it was schools only so glad you were able to confirm clubs got them too.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Judging by the number of Central supporters at the game yesterday, this is a complete joke. Give me a Centrals/Port Grand final next season and ill show you a sell out!

Really ? i was watching it on the abc you could tell there was more centrals fans or atleast that's how it came off but it didn't seem significant and you also had a lot more to cheer about. I thought we had more then our fair share the year before and it wasn't just me saying that.

My tip is 38,000

That makes me laugh
It would be great for SANFL Football to see that crowd number at Footy Pk Sunday but theres no chance what so ever of that number.
Combine the membership of both clubs you'll get 7000.
Taking that into consideration my estimation for this weeks Grand Final is 19,550 if your lucky.

Very lucky. :D

Must of given away 16,000 tickets? ;)
