We won this game in the qualifying and 2nd Semi by NEVER GIVING IN. The club got the reward it deserved, 8 Flags in 10 years. The Supporters can now have one a hell of a party. It's just started here.

2 On Cooney by memory. He moved onto him once he had kicked either 2 or 3.

Great effort Dogs. We wondered if they could step up a gear in the big one and they did. 8 Premierships in 10 years may never be bettered.

Was a bit dismayed to see the 5 sections of seats covered up as they had been for the lead up finals but it didnt detract from a great atmosphere in the end. I'm assuming they will be a permanant fixture at Power home games next year?

Well done to the Blues for playing their part in a superb finals series but thank goodness we wont see baby blue on top of the chimney again...

Agree the umpiring was superb today
As for the judges voting on the Jack Oatey Medal ??????????????????????????????

Not 1 person discussing the winner b4 the announcement thought Trent would win it
Most people had thought it was Eddie Sansburys medal b4 and after
For a guy to kick about 25 % of the goals in the match you would think he must have been close to winning the JO medal

Personally i thought James Gowans was best on ground. Sansbury, Slade then Mckenzie next in that order. Goodrem did his job but he wasn't BOG. Good luck to him though. It did give us another camera shot of Delta so it was probably justified

Thought the atmosphere at the ground was pretty good today certainly better than what you get at an AFL game - bigger crowd than what you get at 10 AFL games in Adealide too...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

with respect i think perhaps delta being there may've swayed a few judges, because he wasn't bog imho, there were at least 4 or 5 blokes in front of him....i wonder if delta actually purchased her scarfe

So it should be! It's our grand final. We can brag when a minor round game matches Port's ... or even a prelim final

I thought 35,000 was a fantastic crowd and looked great on the TV. Vindicates holding our GF a week later than the AFL GF. It surprised me TBH. Well done to everyone who went.

csbowes wrote:I'm definitely disappointed in the result, but to be fair, Centrals were just fantastic today. I really was wondering whether they would be on the ball, but from the first bounce you could see they were completely and totally switched on. On that basis, I'm not going to take anything away from the Bulldogs, as they were on song for the entire four quarters and they positively deserved their comprehensive victory over the Double Blues today.

For Sturt, I thought we showed great endeavour the whole day and I think we had a couple of 10 minute periods where we had total control, but could not apply scoreboard pressure, whereas when the Dogs were on top, they were able to get the goals and thus put distance between themselves and us when it counted. Centrals forwards, particularly in the first half, were excellent, holding marks and kicking goals when it was needed.

So yeah, disappointed without doubt that we lost, but overall pleased we took the extra step finally and made the grannie. Would have loved to have finished 2-0 for the decade, but 1 from 2 ain't a bad return.

Congratulations to the Central District Football Club, I think this was one of their most rewarding victories and as such, all their fans deserve to lap up the glory and rub it in and all that jazz.

Bad luck to Sturt, a gallant effort, good to see the boys didn't just fall over when it was obvious they couldn't win...

Awesome words, CSB. A credit to yourself.
It still hasn't sunk in for SnappyTom. 10 years after golf ended, and I decide early in 2000 to go watch (and join) SANFL with the Dogs - and the Dynasty started.

Great game, lads. I'd have Eddie as BOG, mainly for what he setup first half. Goodrem was great on Trengove, and changed opponents in second half. Great game. James Gowans could so easily have had 4 Jack Oatey's, was awesome today again.

Too old too slow. LOL.

Awesome crowd - 35,000+ is a tremendous effort, and those 5 bays being closed made it look even bigger. Congrats to Sturt too. A good year, just need to add some poilsh to get the top 2 sides for next season. never gave in.

Kyle Jenner and the Westhoff's - most unlucky. But with some retirements come opportunities.

FWIW, Chambers and Thurstans a mistake - Herring and Kurtze must play.

While you always see it thru rose colored glasses, ditto. Only two 25m penalties paid, both in final (insignificant) qtr.
