From what i've heard tonight on the grapevine...The draw has been done and Mt Compass will have 2 A grade sides to cover for the bye n make it a 8 team A Grade comp!!! With the #1 side being Mt Compass GOLD and the #2 side being Mt Compass Maroon!!! Is this true? Rocky as an executive u would be able to answer this i'm sure... Also what are the match-ups for RD1?

If he stayed at Pongy what grade would he be playing this year??

As for these young players, who are they? Fags was the youngest at 26..

We have merged with Yank before & won a flag but they only have a C grade these days.

Maybe the Gsca should get with the times & have all one dayers. Maybe cricket may take off again or it could follow the same path as the Southern league....

When we went back to Goolwa A grade we had 7 guys under 20 and have just missed out on finals by half a game every year, not saying this would happen with Myponga but it is very hard to get an A grade side if u drop out,The GSCA is going along well Yank and Victor are not far away from putting an A grade side in ,think by 2011 you will see these to clubs back in A grade then with Port Elliot back in this year the comp is looking good, most clubs have A,B &C this year and 16,14 &u/12 ,some sides like us have A,B,and 2 C,16 ,14,and 26 kids in u/12,The GSCA did look at playing mostly one dayers in the lower grades but most clubs voted against it as Cgrade only play 4 two dayers anyway and this year there is a seperate 20/20 comp run in January ,SO things look to be going along just fine.

I haven't been involved with the GSCA for too long, but i think it is quie a healthy competition, particularly numbers wise. Very difficult through summer to get guys to commit to standing in the sun for 4 hours when the beach is around the corner. Clubs are great to be around and that is what's keeping these guys interested.

Rocky, i think you will find that McLaren would have one of the youngest A grade sides? they had last year atleast 4 players 18 and under and a 19 year old and a few early 20s, they were a strong team and will be set for years to come. Onto Willunga we have a few young recruits our self, young Chad will make his way back at the demons after a year at southerns D grade. Elliot will be pretty handy also this year, compass GOLD would be around the mark with a close to bottom Maroon side i feel.

As defending champions , plus the inclusion of tomlinson id say compass gold will be the side to beat again this season. Hopefully their second A grade will be competitive at times, but i agree i would expect them to be closer to the bottom than top. Having an 8 team comp is the end result with 7 two dayers and 5 one dayers plus i believe there is a 20/20 comp going on? Does anyone know the rd 1 draw yet? 8)

1) yes compass should have two teams around the same talent, will be stupid them putting another team in if they dont, pongy may aswell have been forced to make a team otherwise.

2)pretty sure elliot are having a team but wont be competitive tho! maybe at times but rarley, will need new recruits robertson and kuss to star for the team if they are to have a good year.

3)much rathered rocky b on the commitee, his personal opinion, voice, and leadership is what the gsca needs on the commitee!

4) andy evans, well does anyone know what he is doing? heard he's staying at goolwa or playing for either willunga, bays, elliot or even the world XI not to sure but think we'll see him lined up for the bays ;)

Be interested in some scores and feedback on the day from some Goolwa lads on their pre-season hit against Port Noarlunga.
Not sure how full strength either side will be in the A's but hopefully a good day in the right spirit is had by all.

Both sides had a mix of A,B and C playing with Goolwa only having two bowlers all day rest C and u/14 ,had them 5 173 ,in return Goolwa 6 runs short ,but great day all round, not bad for a day only with min organise, there bowlers only Band C graders but got the job done, think if Goolwa had all bowlers we would of had them out for below 100,would of been good to had there A grade against our but being a long weekend players away last week before games start was a fair go.

I couldn't make it and it seems it might be harder for me to get out and have a hit this season anyway.
Glad it was all played in good spirits though and a good day had by all.
