Grand Final Attendence

Postby CUTTERMAN » Thu Oct 01, 2009 9:59 pm

Anyone want to guess at a crowd figure? Sturt fans will be out in force for their 1st GF in 7 years, will the Doggies supporters come out seeking revenge?
My tip is 38,000

well there should be at least 30,000 & i'd hope we could get close to 40,000 but after last weeks disMAL crowd (both teams) i'm not sure we'll get to 25,000 this week
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

The whole finals series has had poor crowds, which is why I don't see there even being 30,000 there on Sunday.

Why would they charge $25 entrance when probably $15 or even $20 would help guarantee a full house and showcase the SANFL to the rest of the nation.

Im a member so it doesnt worry me but its a fair hike for a couple or a family.

96,400 - two drawn matches, this will be the tally for the three games.

I think the pricing is fine - and I strongly doubt you'd get masses more for a $5 or $10 reduction.

I find it a bit hard to understand the pricing for the GF too, Charge $15 which might get a bigger crowd (doubt they would fill it) and make up the difference with more people paying for food and drink.

I think 27,500 on Sunday.
Trust the process.

That makes me laugh
It would be great for SANFL Football to see that crowd number at Footy Pk Sunday but theres no chance what so ever of that number.
Combine the membership of both clubs you'll get 7000.
Taking that into consideration my estimation for this weeks Grand Final is 19,550 if your lucky.

There will be no less than 30,000. I tend to over estimate a possible crowd in getting caught up in a game but NM, 19,000, you have to be joking.

The 2002 GF got 35 000, and I reckon this years will be about 35 000 again.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Key positive factors

- two large supporter groups - check (got 35K to 02 GF, highest this decade)

- good weather - check (19 & fine is as good as it gets)

- good media coverage - check (Advertiser is doing about 4-6 pages a day with lots on front and back page, plenty in TV news each day)

Key negative factors

- disapointing crowds so far in finals - true but weather has been dodgy and Adelaide Oval appears more popular for minor finals.

- AAMI Stadium - should not be an issue for crowds relative to previous years as Grand Final has been at AAMI Stadium since 1974. (35 years)

- Long Weekend - a blessing and curse, yes some will want to go away BUT it also allows others to come down for the long weekend and most importantly most people get a day off Monday to recover. GF's this decade not on long weekend have drawn less than when on long weekend (may be not releated but thats the trend)

Still to finalise a figure for the BFC comp but on the above factors should at least be 30,000. Hopefully a lot more.
