Yes Sturt fought it out well, but had the Tigers nailed gimmee goals, the discussion this week would be can the Bays overcome Centrals, which is the whole point of my argument- Glenelg lost the game more than Sturt won it.

Most people were discussing this BEFORE sunday and thats the problem and thats why i gave Sturt a huge chance

The thing I'm really not looking forward to about next year is coming out and winning lots of games during the season. Stupid sort of a thing to say, sure, as it's better than losing a lot. But watching top performances during a season when you know the pattern of the last couple is just being repeated means the footy, at least to me, is harder to enjoy in that losses hurt and wins, while not meaningless, have some of their joy removed because in the back of the mind is the finals bunyip rubbing its big scaly green hands together.

So come on next finals time, I hope to hell we're there. And I hope even more that if we make it, we KICK MORE GOALS THAN POINTS!!

good point, the Bays have at least 50 weeks before any sort of redemption can begin, we could be undefeated going into next years 2nd semi and the monkey wont be off our back, going to be a long 50 odd weeks ahead :(

I'm stoked that we were minor premiers in 1991 !!! That's as good as a Grand Final win to us South supporters.....

And that only happened because North 'threw' a game so as to avoid a 3 week break into the 2nd Semi! ;)

The monkey will NEVER EVER be of our back even if we win one flag we need to win 2-3 in 3-4 years.

Besides its not wasted our motto for years has always been ALWAYS NEXT YEAR and here we are again Aways next year so all those stickers we have left over the ones that read always next year from last year will get to go on sale again

I derived so much pleasure out of the bays loss to Sturt, and to watch Chris Hall play like a goose in that game was even more rewarding!

*chuckle*

If anyone can identify a wasted season it is a South supporter, what is it 45 and counting??

South - Formed 1877, 133 years, 11 premierships = one every 12 years

Glenelg - Formed 1921, 89 years, 4 premierships = one every 22 years

*chuckle*

The Bays 4 since 1921 isn't good but I think Souths 3 since 1900 is worse. I can remember 3 of the Bays premierships and numerous attempts.

Reserves premiers

Inaugural U/18s premiers

Stanley H Lewis trophy holders (thanks milbo)

U/15 country zone champions

U/13 knockout cup winners

(possibly U/14 knockout cup winners too; on at halftime of today's game)

Peter Carey-Peter Darley cup holders

Diadora Cup holders

I wouldn't call the season a total waste 8)
