As much as I like Kane Cornes, I dont think the crows need him.

Shirley does a great job as a tagger, both Ablett and Judd have publically said that Shirley is one of the best in the comp

Let's just get one thing out the way that I realise most would know anyway - if a player has just signed a 2 or a 3 or 4 or a 5 year contract it does not mean they can't or won't be traded, it just means that a club that trades for him/accepts him has to honour the contract he has.

Am surprised in this modern ruthless AFL world that Bailey looks to be letting McDonald go around again given his age and the fact that Melbourne are unlikely to be even finals contenders 'til 2011.

wondering about B. Lake... big big loss if he leaves and we'd need a very good replacement. Hargreaves doesn't have the body or contested marking ability and Williams needs a bit of work. if he left our defence would change immensely! but where would he go?!?

Carlton lack an extractor type of midfielder. Our defence is young and on the up.

Waite, Jamieson both injured this year, Austin injured in the later bit, Bower, Thornton and throw in O'hAilphan & Hartlett, and we're OK there.

Carlton will / should draft a KPP Forward though.....

Carlton did have one.......his name was Josh Kennedy, but you traded him for Judd.
I guess you really gave up more than what you thought.

Kennedy is potentially a good player but was far too injury prone

Mate im not saying I woundnt have taken Judd and given him up, I was simply saying that Carlton gave up more than what some people believe they did. And perhaps the price of Judd is only just starting to be realised.
Thats all I was saying.

If the bulldogs lose Lake then in my opinion I believe they will probably still make the top 4, but struggle to do so probably. And in reality be no chance of taking down the saints for the cats. Just my opinion though.

Heard someone mention yesterday a deal based around Daniel Harris and Corey Jones from the Kanga's to the Saints for Luke Ball.

IF, Luke Ball is rated by the Roo's then there could be some merit in the suggestion .. Jones could offer something to the Saints yet wouldn't be around when the Roo's are next in contention and Harris could be a handy depth player at Moorabbin.

At first thought you would think the Saints should command more for Ball, but his stock valyue appears to have dropped quite significantly.

Obviously all hypothetical's at this time of year, but interesting to consider potential trades that could be of benefit to all parties.

Is this the case? Surely not.
Why would he leave now?
Would it be to play with his brother at Essendon?

Hawks are Getting Close to getting a deal done For Josh Gibson and Shaun Burgoyne.
They are saying it is going to be Pick 25 and 41 for Josh Gibson and Pick 9 and a player for Shaun Burgoyne, and Port are Keen on Ben McGlynn

Correct. Confirmed by the club below:

The Carlton Football Club has advised Brendan Fevola and his management that it will be working to secure a trade that will see Brendan join another club during next week's AFL Exchange Period.

The Club will make no further comment on the discussions on the future of Brendan Fevola or any other players until the Exchange Period next week and a final decision is made on his future.

Will be offered up as a trade, theres a Difference. i Doubt many clubs will look to take a 29 year old on a 750,000 contract. its 1/10 of the Salary cap and alot of money to pay

A club like the Bulldogs would see him as a better bet than Barry Hall

But there's already theories going around that it's a stunt to give Fev a wake up call

My gut feeling though is that Carlton have had enough of him

nah Hally will be at the Bullies next year. Hall is only gunna get 250,000 a year 500,000 less than Fevola. and the Doggies cant offord 750,000 a year

Any chance of getting Fevola and Barry Hall to the Bulldogs??

Now that would be one potent forward line up, with Murphy Johnson Aker and Higgins playing alongside them.

I wouldnt mind Fevola coming to Richmond, have Riewoldt and Morton learn from him and Richo, plus they wont get the best forwards that way and it will alow them develop!

Imagine the parties between Fevola and Cousins ;)

Cancel my messages about other clubs not offording him

i just heard from Rod Popplestone on Kg and the General, thats Carlton are going to Offload him for Free and are willing to Pay the rest of his Contract out, so if Sydney (they are Favorates to get him) are willing to pay 600,000 over two years the Carlton Football Club will pay the left over 900,000 for the Two years of his contract
