It never changed, I just detected a tad of sarcasm in the post of yours I replied to. ;)

So you are saying that the umpires GUESSED and paid a free kick because they thought that it may have been a hit - Good Umpiring in that case ... For Gods sake ... it could have been another McConnell dive looking for a free kick ... he done plenty of that over his journey (but we all know that it wasnt this time).

Like I said .. hitting from behind isn't on and it is gutluss ... but Mattys king hit was not from behind.

Were the Glenelg supports Disgusted when McConnell hit Foldesdy in the nuts earlier ... I dont think so. As i said in an earlier posted ... if you are prepared to give it out you better be prepared to get one back.

If you missed the actual punch then saw McConnell on the deck and Glenelg players remonstrating with Foldesdy it would have been quite clear what had happened.

Thanks Boon, even 3 out of 4 definitions you come up with agrees with the rest of us.

The very little you know about me gives you no right whatsoever to suggest it "Sucks to be you." I dont give a flying that you attached a smilie face to it afterwards in some vein attempt to make it seem like a joke. Well it may be a joke to you but not me. You take offence to things as quick as any one on here,my turn.

"Who got out of the wrong side of the bed" wont cut it either when responding to this.

On this. I never said it wasn't a "decisive blow", from in front or behind could be decisive.. I never said it wasn't a "sudden misfortune" and to "punch forcibly without warning" could be from in front or behind.

"punch from behind" is fairly descriptive though. So 4 out of 4 definitions in this case could describe a blow from behind, what I have always termed a "king hit".

You can not be serious .... You are happy for umps to guess .... So someone can take a premeditated dive, your team mates do some remonstrating and you get a soft free kick. There is way too much diving and playing for free kicks now .. it's getting to be more like soccer FFS.

Cool story bro!

Anyway, thank you mate, I just spent the last 5 minutes watching some king hits on youtube and there's some entertaining stuff! Im not sure if they come out in the same order for everyone or if its different when browsing by phone but the first one I came across was hillarious with a bloke doing some very athletic moves and after a heap of dancing around the ring was king hit in the face for a knock out by the bloke who hardly moves. Great stuff!

EDIT: Found it on my laptop, its top of the normal searches too, check it out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbzFTZ0imaw

PS The king hits on youtube were from all directions too!

I agree with you but then I think back to other people discussing it before and my own terrible memory and some suggest its always been part of footy too. I'm curious on people's thoughts, is diving at an all time high in all forms of footy?
I know there's big money in the AFL so you'd probably expect to see more there but the umpires are a lot better there too so it probably cancels it out.
Thoughts?
At an all time low in the SANFL or the same?

I think it's getting worse as I cant remember being this frustrated a few years ago but it also cold be that I am becoming less tolerant as I get Older

But I will say that I think it's a minority that dive and play for the free kick and it's the repeat offenders that are making it look worse for everyone else.

well i never said who he hit but you guys are correct it was justin mcconnell, they were both on the ground fighting for the ball & as the ball cleared mf 'threw' the head butt at jm while both still on the ground & connected they both got up & jogged from basically centre wing going to the north & jm was maybe 2 metres in front of mf & mf ran a bit quicker & had a round arm swing from behind (right arm) & hit jm with the ball 50-60 metres away....this was a callous & low act & as i said it was thuggery & also a king hit.......as for the 'squirrell grip' allegations well to be honest i never saw it but that isn't a very nice act either if it did happen but as they say two wrongs don't make a right

so u say that it *isnt nice* for him to grab his nads and squeeze, but the other guy punches him in the face , and u write an article on it about him being a lowlife thug? :? wtf dude? get those gay coloured glasses off. im assuming number 50 didnt just let him grab the plums, so what is that called, a king squeeze? that is a very low act in my opinion. i think he deserved a punch. any bloke would know how it feels and for a guy to do it is just

Pure and simple. Nothing but a troll.

Say what you want about Macca as a footballer, but that comment is personal and has nothing to do with football.
Have you ever met Macca ? Have you ever seen him at work ?

I'd guess not. So until such time you do meet him....
