This is where the anti-NC debate really loses me. All this talk about records in finals and then those 2 names get rolled out. Bloody hell!

Rodney Eade will likely drop to 3-5 in finals in his tenure at the Bulldogs after this weekend yet he's been reappointed. Go figure.

Well Eade has atleast made a Grand Final I guess.

Craig hasnt. Craigs achieved as much as Ayres did technically.

No, if you want to get technical about it, Ayres missed the finals in 2 of his 5 years, only made 1 prelim and only won 2 finals.

Respect W-L records over 5 years coaching:

Ayres : 55 - 52
Craig : 79 - 49

I reckon Laidley is easily a better coach than Neil Craig....so does Graham Cornes if you listened to him on 5AA on Monday

Have you seen his finals' record?

I don't doubt he can coach but that seems to be your sole criteria so defend away

Then you can look up their head to head record over the last 5 seasons

Make your case ....

He has a brain and knows when to make a move which is a big advantage over Neil Craig. I think he beats Neil in the personality stakes too (but thats not that hard)

That's hardly convincing and I can't believe you've watched that many NM games in detail to even know what you are talking about.

Surely you can see the conflict of spruiking for a guy with a worse record in finals than NC when that's been your main criticism of NC?

You've had it in for him from the start I reckon. Let me guess .... you thought we should have got Terry Wallace instead? God no!!!!!

Yet you have just talked up Dean Laidley. Check out his finals records in 2005, 2007 & 2008. Lost one final by over 100 points and 2 others(both against Port) by just under 100 points. At least Adelaide are always competitive in finals whether they have a comfortable lead and lose or not, much prefer that than getting absolutely pumped like North did under Laidley.

Adelaide the only team to have made the finals in every one of the last 5 years. Sure no premiership yet but it will come.

On Collingwood tonight, guess they choked being 14 points up after 5 minutes.

PLan A, B, C is crap no team has C or D

you have a game plan and you play man on man..... that is it A & B

unfortunatley the players didnt manage the man on man as well Collingwood who are best in the comp at it. Our PLan A is great and got us to 5 goals up.... end of story really the players need to get better at 1 on 1.....

are you telling me that the best coaches dont have a plan c when things are not going well??
its a bit hard to go man on man when the coach puts loose men in defence who are meant to be the goal kickers that win you the game..

Coaches have a game plan, they stick with it and the players have to carry it out..... yes he put a man back etc maybe a type of plan B or C if you want to call it that. When a team goes man on man your game plan goes out the window, its up to the players to win the footy and work hard.......

that is another thing i dont get... when 5 goals up by playing man on man and coll kick a couple, why change your game plan?? to me that was a panic move which should only be done late in the last quarter.. i said to myself while watching it that the only way the crows will go man on man again is when the pies hit the front..sure the game can be decided by so many things but the coach can only controll what he does, he cant control a player missing a target... and to win games you have to get most of the things you are in controll of right.. he didnt..

All this plan A,B,C,D rubbish is what people who have no idea about football go on about.
