Only stirring you blokes - it was good to see you blokes get up. Especially the 17's knocking off blackwood and Ironbank

interesting! Their footy director (Dave Lewis) originally comes from west gambier. i cant imagine them getting players to travel each w/e from mt gambier to blackwood. there is fair money in mt gambier, and i cant see blackwood paying out that sort of money plus travel costs.

Hahndorf have appointed Gary Carlson as their new A grade coach. Carlson coached Hahndorf to 2 flags in 80's and recently has coached Norwood & Sturt Reserves and State junior aged sides.

You morons, sorry it had to be said  . if the top Country sides could get within 10 goals of the top Centrals sides they would not bother playing in Country. I know we all hate talking about coin, but to be competitive in Central you either need plenty of it, or a coach you is highly regarded and can bring guns with him just for the love of the game.

Truth is even the hardcore locals expect coin from their clubs, regardless of the endless hours invested in Junior development. Country towns, as was pointed out, struggle to balance books let alone pay wads of cash (Hughesy being the exception).

My thoughts, Bridgy middle of the road in Country. Kangarilla would finish around middle of road Central, probably 6th.

Doc, hit the nail fair on the head. Kangarilla = 6th - 7th Is about where I'd put them based on this years performances with likely wins over Shanty, Ironbank and possibly Mt Barker and Loby (if they run hard).

GTS is being serious with the claim our super b's would have beaten a couple of A grade sides this year. Trust me, we would have beaten shanty comfortably. No bollox, comfortably.

thorpe is a good player no dobt about it, but compared with some players in central he wouldn't stand out as much. Just like when SFL when to one div. he didn't totally dominate like he did in a 6 team div 2.

bookie, i havent seen thorpe play but there is every chance that the odd player would still comfortably make the trip up a div. take shane russell for instance. i believe he won a medal in div2 before coming up and winning a medal in div1??(not 100%) he was a standout every time we played ironbank. i think there is no doubt chad dawe could comfortably hold his own in div1, and have heard excellent wraps about M. Danielle(sori bout spelling).

sounds like hahndorf may have done something smart to improve their chances nxt yr. D.raymond, excellent player, maybe even good coach but when your struggling you need someone to bring players from outside the club.

why would shane collins take a step backwards in his career? saw him sitting nxt to jars in the coaching box. wouldnt he continue moving up in the ranks at nth if he is such a good coach. also saw he made 99 on the wkend- HAHA!

The bloke can seriously coach. Sounds like sour grapes to me that he has left your club DA.

Shane Collins wants to coach not just be an assistant. He obviously has a real attachment to Onkas and i think he will make Onkas a real threat for the flag. Maybe even more Roosters will move into Hills ranks next year. Onkas seem to perform better under a local coach rather than an outsider - some clubs are like this.

Is colly confirmed yet or is it just a rumour? :?:

Nah, I'm mates with Capper. Played a lot of footy and cricket with him.

I was taking a stab at the fact he's so intense!

You'll love him until he cracks a spastic and shifts clubs.....again!!!!!

The top three div 2 sides wouldnt even get within 10 goals of Ironbank, Div 2 is a shocking level of footy compared to div 1.
