Honestly, with having no previous issues with the man. Was he at the most fault of St Kilda losing the GF. 2 players out of 44 were terrible in the last quarter. Blake leaving Hawkins unchecked 30metres from goal. 5 minutes later shirks a hardball which a Geelong player pushed forward. Lastly(and forgivable) misjudged an incoming ball for Rooke to mark. PLayer no.2 Gilbert, never have been a fan and while he has improved this year in minor round games, class shines through in games like todays and he disappeared, or when he did find the ball used it poorly. I thought Jones was ok on Ablett but needs to learn to kick on his right foot, looked terrible in the last quarter was pushed onto his right. After Lyon asked concentration and commitment from his players at 3/4 time i was disappointed to see Blakes effort(imho). Bring on the comments.

yep i missed that one, was a day they needed him to thrive also. With greasy conditions Kosi and Riewoldt spilling grabs, the game could have been his.

Overheard one fan complaining that if the game was at docklands his beloved saints would have won by 5 goals........ and they were definately the better team. No probs maybe he feels like Geelong fans felt last year?

So close at 3/4 time. Can imagine what Bomber Thompson said, "do you want to feel the same pain as last year" dont think much more had to be said, saints very gallant in defeat, perhaps missed a few shots early on that may have made a difference but in the end it wasnt to be, definately nowhere near disgraced

Then soon after gave away a 50 mtr penalty that resulted in a goal to the Cats if I remember rightly. Crucial moment of the game, Saints had dominated the quarter up until that stage and yet had not capitalised on the scoreboard at all.

R Clarke, Gilbert, Dawson all wobbly - Gilbert has had a good year though.

They remind me of Scott Stevens - seem to do there job week-in, week-out but just get the feeling they will cost you an important game along the way by stuffing up, or getting a bag kicked on them.

Saints don't seem to have realised that Raphael Clarke is just not up to it - whether it be a final or a minor round game and you have to wonder whether he was drafted in the first place because he was the best available choice at that time in the 2003 draft or because his brother was already on the list.

Wocijincki possibly.
Enright or Kelly? Hardly, just because they are unobtrusive, less fanfare types of players.
Blake and Byrnes perhaps? Pretty stiff on those blokes I would have thought.
Hawkins? But is now developing. Similarly, wasn't a huge wrap for Taylor at first, but has developed well, culminating in a great effort on the weekend.
