I think that's the first time he has won it too. One of his many marks in 1999 came 2nd to Matthew Lappin.

Gary Ablett was goal of the year :shock: Wat a joke, yes, obviously a very goal but geez there surely must have been at least another dozen more difficult and spectacular than that one.

Come on mate Abletts goal was nuthin compared to all the other finalists. A right footer from that spot it aint that hard, he could prob do it 7/10 times

Motlop,boundary,50m out,checkside,on the run,Brisbane,didn't win,joke.

None of them matter from now on, Lloyd's backheel beat Motlops effort detailed above. :roll:

Agreed- back heel was an absolute travesty.

Motlops on the run was a cracker..and the Chiefs commentary of that goal was just as good :)
