Australia vs West Indies-ICC Champs. Trophy

Postby Gozu » Sat Sep 26, 2009 2:17 am

The broadcast starts at 4:30pm on Saturday afternoon on Fox Sports. It's our opening game of the tournament as we try to defend our crown first up against a second string West Indies side. CA are threatening to replace the West Indies team supposedly touring here this summer with an Australia A side unless they send their best players out here but regardless of what happens with that we'll be playing their second string team on Saturday.

Nathan Bracken has been ruled out for the tournament and Michael Clarke will miss the game with his back playing up again.

I wonder what Brett Lee was thinking then, I only think he was trying to look innocent in running himself out.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Johnson has brought up his first ODI fifty.

Windies 3/169 (38 overs) Need 107 from 84 balls for a MASSIVE upset.

What an embarrassment it will be to the ACB if this happens especially as i heard today the ACB are thimking of Abandoning the upcoming series with the Windies unless they bring their full strength team for fear of it being a whitewash.  Struggling to beat their 3rd X1 team atm.

Doug Bollinger is Bracken's replacement in the squad.

Yeah, but they did get help from the pitch early on thanks to the 9:30am start ala the 2006 ING Cup final. As I said, 275 was more than enough to defeat them; the pitch had less gremlins in it by then, but enough to cause sufficient problems.
