Having said that, must give credit where credit is due and i think the chaning of the name from 'South Adelaide' to the 'Panthers' has worked absolute wonders and brought nothing but positive motion in terms of crowd attendance, on field success and passion from supporters and players.....

There will be plenty of whispers between now and announcement, my whisper is that the list is long, strong and impressive with more applicants due before close date. Reidy and Ronny are also out and about, early days folks but as only this site can do, let the rumours run amok.

South will never get off the bottom if he becomes the head coach.

Why is it that everywhere that man goes the head coach gets sacked or quits. It has happened far too often to be a coincidence.

There has to be someone better than him to do the job surely.

I have enjoyed talking footy occasionally with Fuller over the 9 years of his rein ( Shock Horrer ) , its really nothing personal , just I have believed since maybe 05 that our club needed more then what he was capable of delivering ! Hes really a good chat over a beer or two .

Hes nothing if not set in his ways , which for the most part are good . Could be one of the very few men who can realistically make slow steady progress , considering how far down South have fallen . The timing is curiously aligned , all be it a little too convenient surely to be luck !

As I said elsewhere make some constructive comments holden and I might agree with you, he would be good for the job but doesn't seem at this stage that he will take it on....they could do worse though.

List of applicants long and strong?
Darley are you feeling ok? You must have a fever sunshine!
Unless we get a dictator as our coach who will not take an ounce of _hit from anyone, and I mean anyone we will not be going anywhere!
What top notch coach would seriously want to coach our club?

Very true.....Im sure the applicants would talk to previous coaches (ie. Mr Pyman) to get the lowdown on what they are getting themselves into.....

We definitely dont want a "YES" man......bowing to the boards requests :prayer:

One of the criteria that is suggested to be a strong point for consideration is having previously taken a bottom tiered side and won or contested the premiership at a state level competition either within the SANFL or comparable to the SANFL.

My mail is that Ron Fuller himself is in the mix, along with Scott Watters and Peter German who have won the WAFL Premiership each. I think considering the events of recent years, a novice coach or someone from a junior level will not be in the mix this time around. South need to go back to what brought them success last time in 1964 and to bring in a seasoned experienced SANFL Coach that can offer leadership to both the playing group and the club in general to move forward.

Along those lines I do hope that Reid himself will nominate for the Presidency of the club, a move like that might well just be one that brings both stability and experience to the leadership of the club which is pretty much exactly what we need more than ever right now!
