Only know of one song title at the moment - "The United States of Eurasia".
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Just heard that there is a lot more 'orchestra'-type music on the new album.
Apparently Bellamy has composed a lot of it himself.

Massively pumped for this album release, been hanging out for some new material from Muse for a while now.

Their concert a couple of years ago was the best I've ever been too. No mean feat considering they we only playing to a half full entertainment centre, they could've easily decided to just perform at 'half rat power' rather than put their full energy into it.

Okay Muse fans PLEASE don't take this personally as it is a genuine question. Is this album typical of their work? The reason I ask is I first heard this album yesterday and in all honesty thought it was incredibly lame. It sounded like really bad derivative 70's rock. So I'm wondering is this album out of the norm for them as I haven't heard their early stuff.

I still like this album, but to be honest it's not up with their previous work. I wouldn't suggest you pass judgement on Muse by this album, definitely check out their previous work. Origin of Symmetry is probably their best album I reckon.

Agreed. There are some good tracks, but overall not up to Muse's usual standard.
Also agree on Origin.

I heard somewhere that this may be their attempt to crack the good ol' US of A, hence the tendancy towards the 'mainstream' on this album. Not sure if it's true or not.

Start with Showbiz and go from there.
I can see your point if you start with The Resistance.
I think your view might change a little if pick up the first album and go from there.
My favorite tracks are Guiding Light and Exogenesis Part 3.

Thanks for the feedback all. As I thought I'd heard too much good stuff about them to judge them on the latest album.
