I have to disagree with the appreciation of Wilson's article on Williams. It was just another opportunity to sink the boot into someone who, like them or not, has put in an enourmous amount of work and sacrifice to become one of the best athletes in the world. Serena dominates women's tennis because of the hard work she has and continues to put into her game. Sure she reaps enormous reward for that but that was never a given when as a child she still made the sacrifices and put in the work. She would have been pushed no doubt but at the end of the day she deserves some respect for what she has been able to acheive. Wilson argues bans and fines were inadequate yet herself uses the word "allegedly" when describing what Serena "allegedly" said. The thing that irks me is that Wilson doesn't even have the "alleged" comments from Serena and who she "allegedly" said them to right. Serena snapped. Maybe she is a brat and maybe she's not the most likeable person in world tennis but Wilson has once again over reacted to an incident that whilst unsavoury is certainly not all she is sensationalising it to sound like.

To think Wilson had the chance to write many positive sporting stories this week including one on the winner of the female singles at the US Open yet not surprisingly she chose to take the negative path. FFS the woman is exactly as Dogwatcher described although i'd add great, big, dirty and useless in front of his description.

PS - I only read the article because of reading about it here and not believing Wilson could have actually written something worth reading. Sadly i shouldn't have wasted my time. I won't make the same mistake again.
