An absolute disgrace of a decision. Maybe they should clean the Board of Directors out instead...

My 2 cents worth....

I think we have to be realistic about this. Sampson was NOT the best coach to take South forward to competing in finals football. Sampson was thrown in the deep end after the "Cahill" saga with no coaching experience. He might be South's favorite son but the side really did not improve from the previous year. He did not do his apprenticeship....its like sending a 1st year Carpentry apprentice to build a house....it aint going to happen.

South needs a strong leader to get in the club and shake it by the horns.....WITHOUT ANY INFLUENCE FROM THE BOARD!!!!! ...yes, BOLD for a purpose - Keep your noses out of it!!!!!

It is sad Sampo is gone but people - Move on. Get over it and look forward to a new coach, some new players and hopefully some wins in 2010.

If people are that angry - organise a members forum again. I have been to a few and alot of people dont say what they really think to the board and are quieter than mice!!!! Thats alot of the problem at South - we sit there and except mediocrity and accept it. Other clubs dont!!!!

The new coach has a huge job on their hands......the board and CEO better get it right!!!!! :?
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Whilst I’m the first to admit the W/L record under Sampson (4-29 by my calculations) is appalling, Clay has been on a hiding to nothing the past couple of years. Thrown in to the job when he was clearly not ready (the idea was for him to be taking over from Jack in 2010!), with a mediocre playing list and the usual unprofessionalism from the board doesn’t help.

Who in their right mind with any sort of reputation or experience would want to coach the club?

Time to go Kavanagh and co. 3 coaches (not including caretaker Cameron) in 3 seasons is beyond a joke. The way that certain situations were handled in recent times (Pyman, Cahill, Trevor Potts, treatment of younger reserves players etc) left a lot to be desired.

Now let’s sit back and wait for all the cheap shots from opposition supporters to roll in……yawn.

Rant over.

No cheap shots from me Saintal, I fully agree with you, esp about finding a replacement. I'd like to see South improve, and feel sorry for you as supporters having to put up with this

The only thing I am thankful for, and this is for all the WWT and Fuller bashes in and out of the club, is the strength off the field my club has shown over the last ten or so years.

That actually sounds like some praise for Fuller there Holden  :D

The south situation reminds me of sturt in the early 90's where we seemed destined to obliterate ourselves. Hopefully south can dig themselves out of this mess. The club, the clubs fans, and SANFL supporters deserve better.

Yes and what did Sturt and Glenelg do to get out of the sh!t, got rid of the boards or the boards fell on their swords...

Both sides have made more finals than they missed since they made those changes.

Will be interesting to see if there are any real changes at South....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

As I said elsewhere make some constructive comments holden and I might agree with you, he would be good for the job but doesn't seem at this stage that he will take it on....they could do worse though.
Trust the process.

I did indeed, with some extra reasons and I have still come to the same conclusion. South Adelaides problems go much deeper than the coach. The first thing supporters must realise is that you vote the board in, you are entitled to vote them out. If you are not happy with the spin being put out into the public arena, do something about it!
BK is great with words, his actions are typical of a person who is drowning, his dribble on radio tonight lacked any content whatsoever, in fact, I doubt he even believed what he was saying. Absolutely no conviction in his interview and he failed miserably with his reasons!

I wonder who wants to put their head in the "Noarlunga Noose", any takers?
One thing in your favour, you're on a hiding to nothing and the worst that can happen to the succesful applicant is you find yourself hung, drawn & quartered in a season. now that's about enough to get the best bloke available. Pig's Ar$e!!

Now that's a good place to start, the beginning.
Has anyone bothered to go back through the history of this board's time in control and look at what's happened?
You might find "question time" becomes very appropriate at the next AGM if you turn the heat up on them. BK will be like a very old outboard motor, more splutters and misfires than you've ever heard before.
