Bring back Trevor Potts, he was the last bloke to coach any Panthers team to a Grand Final and apparently has been given his marching orders by Bassett out Norwood way.

He's the only coach I've ever known that had his name and the word COACH embroidered on his t/suit top at every club he went to, maybe he suffers from an inferiority complex.
At least if he got lost, they knew where to send him back to! .

Do you really think so, just happen to get it from the "horses mouth" Darls, he's known it for weeks.
You really should listen sometimes, you might find out what your beloved club is actually doing behind the scenes, including 'pulling the wool' over its members eyes!

South could do far worse than Trevor Potts.
The way South treated him and Gary Cameron was disgraceful (where have I heard that before?).
Two quality blokes with good footy brains.
I doubt if Kavenagh would ever swallow his pride and take them back. Apparently Pottsy mentioned a few home truths to him previously that hit a nerve. It's even more apparent that Kavenagh has learnt nothing from that.
I'd certainly support Trevor and Gary back at the club.

Couldn't you have said exactly the same thing about Wayne Weidemann at Westies? Not that I would want to defend South's board but aren't they entitled to decide that, after nearly 2 seasons, and regardless of their playing stocks, their coach might not be good enough? (Jeez I'm swimming against the tide here.)

If the Panthers don't have a replacement lined up already then their hierarchy has to be in the Dumb and Dumber league.

Why they would wait this late whilst 3 other clubs have scoured the market clean defies belief.

I just hope for the supporter's sake that the club can sort itself out quickly.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

darley 16 you are a dead set wanker.
It's about time that you pulled your head out of your bum and had a good look around.
You've knocked me before saying that I had no idea etc.
Instead of blindly supporting the dribble that emanates from SAFC hierarchy, how about looking and thinking, you may really see what is going on at times.
People generally get what they deserve in life. South people such as yourself deserve nothing better than what you are currently getting from your club.
People like yourself go to Members Forums held by the club and get sidetracked by jumper designs and the like. It doesn't matter what jumper you're wearing if you can't win a game fgs.
Your administration is deplorable. Your President is a disgrace. Your CEO lacks credibility.
Instead of following this unaccountable rabble, do something about changing it.

Sampson was probably not going to be appointed from about early August onwards...why delay the process for 8 weeks when most of the best candidates have already been appointed. Good luck getting a coach unless you have plan B ready to go...this may be Trevena or Torney.
The current prospective coaching pool is pretty shallow, Eagles were lucky that we got Michael Godden because it was pretty thin after him.

Fuller is more than capable and would offer stable basic structure ala Cahill but without the side issues . Pay him enough and Im sure he will fire up for the challenge . Hes nothing if not set in his ways , which for the most part are good . Could be one of the very few men who can realistically make slow steady progress , considering how far down South have fallen . The timing is curiously aligned , all be it a little too convenient surely to be luck !

Whilst I’m the first to admit the W/L record under Sampson (4-29 by my calculations) is appalling, Clay has been on a hiding to nothing the past couple of years. Thrown in to the job when he was clearly not ready (the idea was for him to be taking over from Jack in 2010!), with a mediocre playing list and the usual unprofessionalism from the board doesn’t help.

Who in their right mind with any sort of reputation or experience would want to coach the club?

Time to go Kavanagh and co. 3 coaches (not including caretaker Cameron) in 3 seasons is beyond a joke. The way that certain situations were handled in recent times (Pyman, Cahill, Trevor Potts, treatment of younger reserves players etc) left a lot to be desired.

Now let’s sit back and wait for all the cheap shots from opposition supporters to roll in……yawn.

Rant over.

No cheap shots from me Saintal, I fully agree with you, esp about finding a replacement. I'd like to see South improve, and feel sorry for you as supporters having to put up with this

The only thing I am thankful for, and this is for all the WWT and Fuller bashes in and out of the club, is the strength off the field my club has shown over the last ten or so years.

Believe they had someone lined up but he ended up getting a better offer as an AFL assistant coach.

Darls, is this new word a result of the "credit squeeze" or are you meaning something you have very little of," credibility"

The big difference in that is the Westies committee doesn't believe in the "crash & burn" theory.
They seem to make measured decisions with no individual self interest, a big difference in their club and personal values.
