What that shows from the very detailed analysis is that we are always about three to four players per match short of a flag contender. Always having this number of players not up to League standard will separate us from #1-3 rank to where we are currently at.

Cicolella missed two matches - Rounds 7 and 8. Had a slowish start but the 2nd half of the year he was close to if not at his best again.

Agreed with comments re Geddes and McEntee.

lol - we could just post this list to Godden to save him a lot of trouble.

I will email it to him later today.

On a side issue, how do you Eagles fans feel about Goddsy continuing to coach at the Bays even though he is now officially your coach?

Having watched Cheepy for several years at the Cats, I thought your expectations were a bit over the top. He can chip in for a few goals here and there but isn't a matchwinner

Taking your word for it then , thats another recruit ala Biaggi , that Fuller missed when targeting real onballers !

Congratulations on your list assessment Mr. Fuller 9.5 out of 10 , well done ! Pity our ex coach didnt share most of what your analysis suggests . Enough said . Your insightful look really shows some weaknesses that Godden would do well not to ignore , as there not exactly new . A good read !

Wasn't there big raps on him ? Did he win the VFL best and fairest or something ? I vaguely remember he was best in a State game, but crappy memory. I thought the doggies may have been chasing him. Was he any good ?

Cheep is just not good enough for the big money being paid him.
He is an outside (receiver) player who can kick a goal. No outstanding pace or hard ball getting ability. He told the club what sort of player he was but in desparation still went ahead and recruited him. Most probably on a two year contract but the club should try and get rid of him to open up more salary cap.

Paul Stewart delisted. NO chance at that happening. Shows potential, port are carp and he is still contracted to them. Rather poor assessment IMO on him.
Most others, from an outsider looking in, were fair and i agree

No chance of Stewart being delisted at all. Has a two year contract with the Power and they can't exactly afford to pay out someone at the moment.

Think that Godden is mostly going to have to work with what is already at the club, not sure there is going to be much room for recruits considering the changes to the SANFL salary cap from one of my sources within the club.

Pending AFL delistings, the couple of players I hope we would be eagerly targetting would be Sam Jacobs and Michael Wundke, despite coming from North.

Mr Beefy what position did Jay play in the VFL .Ignoring what some of my Eagle friends are saying.I saw him go in and get the hard ball more often than not.Plus his best game was on the wing against south at noarlunga.

Here we go again we have heard that the last 2 or is it 3 years !!
We have to recruit from somewhere
A number 1 ruckman
B Midfielders with pace
C Large backman.
D Large Forward(unless we get a chb that can take kennys place).

And we havent heard if all the assistants are staying or going .

There is a black hole looming in about 2 years time if we cannot recruit a ball-winning midfielder or two.

Apart from Cicca (who may retire by then), Powell and Treeby who are getting older there is no one on our list capable of getting 20+ possessions coming through.

Stars to be such as Polec, Sumner, Broadbent etc will be drafted and won't play a part.

Whichever midfielder wins the VFL medal must be targeted as a priority recruit. They are much harder to develop then a backman.
