I think it shows what i said, a massive difference in standard between the two comps, if a top two side in the APFL cant beat a side who doesnt win a game in the BL&G, doesnt say much for the standard of the APFL does it?

im sure you will find cases of teams always punching above (or below) their weight in trial games. teams have players out etc.

in two wells case, they had a number of lads who tried out or where playing u18/ressies in adelaide at one point or another. so quite possible that a few of these didnt play.

At the end of the day trial games mean not much. Quite often a lot of the best players are unavailable due to many reasons such as cricket and tennis. Whilst they are an indication I wouldn't get too excited by them. We played Southern Eagles and BBH this year and had a close game against both of them, and they both went on to win their comps by over 10 goals whilst we didn't even make the finals. Does this mean that both YP and NE leagues are inferior to ours? I wouldn't have thought so!
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Its not like you work hard and be motivated all year to win the GF just so that the opposition coach and captain come into the rooms afterwards. It has little significance to the big picture.

It's a pretty satisfying thing when it does happen mate.

Mallala has beaten Nuri in trials 2 out of the last 3 years, so you havent got much of an arguement. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to realise that the Barossa league is a much higher standard, and so it should be given the $$$ floating around that district.

Congratulations to Mallala - proved to be way too good on the day - our boys had the task in front of them with the Magpies being too slick and polished and when we saw Keith walk in we knew Mallala were going to be switched on.

I know the coach spent a very long while with the team after the game discussing the days and years events and would not have intented to upset the victors.

Well done to United MC, the mound, the grounds and the Oval were in sensational knick and put on a top day.

The Roosters FC still had a very good season, with success and improvement measured in all grades, and also taking out the A1 Netball final.

Mate - the side that played that trial game bears little or no resemblance to that side which played in the GF - it was a 6 quarter game mixed of B and A, no scores were even kept. All it proves is you know little about what you are talking about. Throw your crap somewhere else ......

Absolutely.... 4 teams in the grand final, and an A1 netball flag (threpeat) is a brilliant effort. Good signs for the Roosters in years to come, Jumbo hopefully Fitzy can keep the same group together for a few years and enjoy the fruits of some lean years recently.

Indeed - I am sure the football department is already working on requirements for next season which includes keeping as many of these lads together as possible.

Did I hear correct that you guys were in Two Wells for a "cultural" evening on Monday? Wish I had known I would have come down for a look and shared the culture!

Isn’t it asking for trouble going to the town you have beaten in a GF on Mad Monday considering it is highly likely they will also be there? Did you run into the Bantams Swamp?

No we didnt mate and we certainly weren't asking for trouble, just celebrating somewhere different as the Mallala Pub needed a chance to restock to shelves by that stage. Fuzzy was there and he loved it as much as we did. Been a traditional thing at Mallala that the mad monday in a premiership year is enjoyed with a pub crawl around the district. This year the bus left at around 130pm and stopped in a several places including Sharman's Metal Land, Long Plains oval to relive the moment, all be it in teeming rain, then we were off to Dublin Hotel, then along to the saleyards at Lower Light to visit Jimmy Franks the president, then on to Virginia where Youngy and Chris Campbell we pouring the beers and finally we called in at Two Wells pub for a few. Was a great day. Its generally all pre organised so the pubs know we're coming and the publicans absolutely love it as you can imagine Ace.
