It was a pretty ordinary game

Lots of skill errors like dropped chest marks and kicking straight to the opposition - I was surprised with the standard considering players

I agree it was a pretty ordinary game but to be fair, the wind did have a fair bit to do with it. Final scores: Goodwood 11.13 Henley 8.12.

Great work SHOCS, played fantastic... Henley were pretty undisciplined, and played individual footy. and SHOCS played a great team effort, there were no passengers... Back 6 were superb... Never looked like losing...

Bad luck Henley losing both 1 & 2s, just not up to it. When everyone ( Henly supporters ) thought they only had to rock up both grades & take the cup they were far from it.
I heard one of the James boys say after their grand final win ( Kersbrook ) while holding the cup " money can't buy this" how right is he?
I saw a few articles & pictures in the advertiser during the week all about the sharks, sharks, sharks  mmmmm what will be in the sunday mail?????
Well done to Goodwood Saints a marvelous effort by them 5 in a row is exceptional & this club will hold this record for a long time. :supz:

I got my sunday mail today & i read the article regarding the game ( great effort Goodwood ) i didn't realise Henley were relegated in 2007 as stated by their coach Steven Hall
Steven your club was promoted to A1s after being successful in the Div 2 2004 Grand Final v Woodville Sth.
I'd say that means your clubs first year in A1s was 2005 & you havn't been relegated since, yes this years an improvement after a straight sets exit in the 2008 finals but also dissappointing especially the $$$ spent trying to buy that much wanted flag. I'd say the plan for next year would be a couple more League players & an extra $25k!

I was down the southern end yesterday, but was I wrong in saying that Demasi was off the ground for the 2nd & 3rd quarters?

I didn't notice him until the last quarter

NM, you are an absolute muppet.
get your facts right before you preach like the pope!!
you dont know anyting about the sharks or goodwood like you profess.
if you knew any credible sources....over half of henleys a-grade were juniors at the club and i would imagine that money is not their issue.
they were beaten by a more experienced team that has been together for a lot longer than henley's a-grade.
the sharks have a lot of great things to come in the future!!!
i remember goodwood lost their first one before they went on to win "5 in a row!"
maybe the sharks can do the the same?

Well done again GSFC. They just had the poise to do the right things at those crucial moments of the game.

Happy birthday Laura!

hopefully now with NM's team being down in div 3, we will hear less of him next year. don't think he has any credible sources. he just likes to put crap on everyone elses club. especially the ones that are allegedly paying good money for players. maybe in jealosy probably that his club is a shit heap with no money at all.
i do happen to know that there are quite a few ex juniors that are now playing seniors at henley. is that there fault that they played a bit of league football in between that time, and that they are getting payed for their services. there are more at the eagles that have already stated a desire to play there when they finish up.

Bad luck stimpy you can't get rid of me that easy.
I'm all for players getting a bit of cash for their services but mate don't you think excessive over the top payments for AMATEUR FOOTBALL is going a bit far?
Especially when you lose finals in straight sets one year & lose the GF the next while having the best squad in the league.

oh i'm sorry. didn't know you were on the board of henley and knew what there match payments were.
as for having the best squad in the league, i thought goodwood would have that covered. they have good number of ex league players too remember.
henley did get some crucial injuries leading up to last years finals too which was probably the main reason they went out in straight sets. and losing to a class outfit like goodwood is nothing to be ashamed of.
