And the only othe thing you could here from the end to enders in between cheers was how Central were getting rorted. Walked behind them many times and heard bugger all else.
From a neutral watching your game, yes, the umpiring was bad but it didn't favour any side.

The trouble with bad umpiring is it tends to favour the weaker side at the time. What I mean by that is one side gets a run-on and teh other side plays for frees and when they are played they disrupt the flow of the game. I think this impacted both sides on Sunday and tended to spoil what was a great spectacle. We all became very umpire aware. Not a good sign.

Now that comment I agree with. Over umpiring a final is the worst thing the umps can do. They need to let it go and only pay the obvious ones.

Sounded pretty good on the tv. There was plenty of noise when we were 20 points down, on the tv. And it got louder when Glenelg missed shots and when Centrals goaled.

Actually, the Louts were pretty loud at times on the tv too.

There was also a Glenelg supporter annoyingly close to a speaker - totally one eyed. Every decision (even one that was clearly a free) was a "disgrace".
Sometimes the speakers just need to be turned off.

Of course Dutchy, Willow is a 2009 State Player - our ONLY State Team representative - who has not only played in and won a premiership, but setup yesterday's match winning goal by running off Willoughby into clear space, to receive the Dutschke kick.

He assisted Eddie with a lace out pass, and nailed his attempt to get his side back in front late in the match. How did SLSP 33 Justin "the mercurial" McConnell go when his turn fell due late in the match?

I'm not Willow's #1 fan this season, but his effort, execution - and most importantly workrate - was up nearer to where it has to be. I note Laidlaw gave him 4th BOG in our match review (I did chuckle at that too...).

Ryan Williams is a mile a better player than McConnell. Willo isn't used as a ball winner very much at the moment, probably because he lost a fair bit of form and confidence. But as a defender he's as hard and tough as anyone around, and will work the whole game.

Very interesting to note Eddie was our second best and willo in there as well. After some of the comments about their performances perhaps there are some opposition fans who don't quite understand why they lost.

Lee Spurr's second half was the difference in the end IMO, along with Sansbury.

It's quite remarkable - I remember him (Spurr) make some absolute howlers in a televised game earlier in the season (vs Nwd??? perhaps). Amazing how he's turned it around in big games 2 weeks running.

If you thought that was boring, well......I guess you're bored and trolling. Two brilliant, thrilling games two weeks in a row, what a great advertisement for the SANFL. Fantastic atmosphere, from both supporters. Obviously I'm bias from a Central perspective but that was amazing. With one weeks less rest, I thought that would come into play. What an amazing team. So proud of the boys!

only two brilliant games???? didnt you watch anyone other than your own team???

First up let me say I thought Sansbury and Williams were good yesterday and when the game was on the line I respect how they stood up. However it could have been so easily the other way for Williams. Five mins earlier at a ball up he ran forward of the play (backing his team-mates to win the contest) but instead Glenelg won it, our Willo ran in to the forward 50 had a shot from 40 and missed as it drifted to the wrong side of the goal post, margin would have been out past a goal....

Fast forward 5 mins Williams continues to back his team mates (have to respect that) and well the rest his history.... :( :(

Don't for one minute think I'm bitching here as I said I respect Williams backing his team mates. Maybe the real credit should go to Gowans/Gowans/Slade/Thomas whoever the F*** it was who got it to Dutchke and then on to Williams.... Grrrr

You're a credit to yourself; I have the utmost respect for both how you've commented on the match and with your opinion(s).

There is a reason Willo won the coaches award - he followed the 'forward, high risk taking' instruction laid down by Roy at 3qt. Some of the credit for him running forward of the play has to be directed to Roy. It's risky, yes. He was on a hiding to nothing playing Willoughby one-on-one when we needed to take the risk.

I'm being respectful on here but inside my mind.... :D :D ;)

Looking forward to two weeks time, not underestimating Sturt, but like everyone back at the club dying for a shot at redemption. However I know if we play like yesterday with the same intensity a win this week is well within our grasp and then roll on October 4.

Don't want 2009 to end like this.

Lets hope the team aint thinking that or 2009 will end like that.

If Chambers dont play they might actually play someone who can kick goals so this week wont be the usual walk in the park like what usually happens when we play Sturt

Beating Sturt is our motivation to have another crack at Centrals and yes it is all about the process not the result. Don't worry rubbers will have them focussed on the job at hand.
