Great work Roosters!!!!!! All three junior games went to the underdog which was great to see.

Birdwood Snr colts played awesome footy for four qtrs and really deserved to win the premiership after coming from 4th and having a fantastic finals campaign.

Jake Snowden won the BOG but there were prob 6 guys that could've won it - they played very well as a team and Woody and JC should be very proud of their efforts during the year to get them playing like that. Their pressure on Hahndorf when they had the footy was 2nd to none - the tackling and smothers were fantastic which is what set them up for the win.
Even after Hahndorf kicked the first 3 goals in the 3rd qtr and hit the front, Birdwood stepped up and kicked the next four which showed great character.

Enjoy the victory boys - well done!!! :partyman: :supz: \:D/ :ymapplause:

once again central division grand final gives nothing! when was the last time we had a close grand final! u15s was the only close contest of the day even though the under 17s was an entertaining clash.

What would you prefer though, a fairly even competition all year with 4 realistic chances at the flag and a bit of a dud GF, or a dud season with there only ever two chances at the flag, but have a decent GF?

It was a dud day, yet again yesterday, the A grade never really reached any great heights, just a matter of how much. Gigney would of had 2 kicks for the day, Roach tried hard all day, as did Blackwoods mids in Edwards and Magery but Uraidla were too classy over the ground with their relentless pressure.

Decent sort of crowd but after half time went pretty quiet. Blackwood should of gone a bit of knuckle to try and get some passion flowing.

Congrats to Birdwood 17's, one of the better games of football I have watched. Pressure in the last quarter and through out the game was something else. Never seen a team that determined to win a game of football! Much deserved.

I heard a little whisper at the beginning of the year that a certain Hahndorf player was being groomed to take over as coach next year. :-k

I have heard it may be Cooper, would hope this is not the case as he would be a bad role model for the junior players coming through.

ok fair call.. maybe a little harsh on the 'complete tool' comment... i just always find it amusing when someone is soooo overly confident that their teams are unbeatable (a grade and u/17's) only to have them both beat down when it counts. i was amused.

I bet the Uraidla blokes couldn't care less about what sort of spectacle they put on. Who won the medal?

You would be correct i think. thought blackwood when they kicked the first goal could challenge uri but uraidla were just too good in every position on the ground. gigney was kept to 1 goal which just left roach with too much to do. uraidla seemed to have a much better spread to kick goals. d brown didnt kick many j brown didnt get many either but still kicked a winning score. i think it will be another great close comp next yr and a few recruits from lower sides will give some surprise packet teams.
