Mudlarks win 1st ever colts premiership huge pat on the back to all involved. Over 4500 through the gate by start of A grade. Must have been the greatest day in great southern footy history.

What a day of footy! So close in every grade. If Pongy had a pub it would be pumping!! I was so happy for those lads and it was so good to see the amount of support they had. Strath were gallant in defeat, but couldnt edge home but kept us on the edge til the end. BJ Ernest unsighted all day (until he kicked the sealer)

I am going to Stratco to purchase rope and my next visit is the bridge... Losing grand finals is devastating but even more so when you team plays well below par.. Leith Renney will be getting a package in the post this week from me...coach of the year award beacuse the premiership coach is the man that deserves the accolade.
You can love football, but it wont always love you back!

LF you deserve the coach of the year award.
I know it comes down to grand finals,
but your team went through the whole season undefeited.
That is a great effort and you improved your position on last years.

No rope and no bridge - you can be very proud of you and your teams achievements O:)

It was huge E22.

I was in the canteen 6-30am,
Opened at about 8am,
Was a bit quiet to start with and then bang !
The line was 5 wide and 10 deep for the rest of the day
I left there at the start of the B Grade.
I think we managed to 'move people along' pretty quickly with their food requests :D

So hopefully anyone who visited the canteen was happy enough O:)

(I'm sure everyone at the club) and I would like to thank Pat Kahl and Deb Schnieder who clearly did the most work on the catering side of things,
and were in the canteen or around busily doing other things from start to finish,
and to all others involved on this side of things, especially the modies mums who came along in the morning and did more than their fair share =D>

I hope everyone, winners and losers had a great day O:)

Agree with all the above comments. A great day for footy with such close games in all grades. McLaren Football Club did an exceptional job even attending to early toilet blockages promptly to avoid disaster later. So glad for them to have had Premiership side in the Reserves to celebrate with after. As a Willunga supporter could not be more proud of all our boys both the U14s & our superb group of A boys who showed great courage and strength to scrape in at the end in both matches. President Lang said at presentations how Leith Renney was an absolute champion coach as not only has he and his group of supporters developed our youngsters to achieve success this year he was a champion coach about 20 years ago coaching some of our A graders such as Hamsey, Sammy McGowan etc way back in the 80's. So interested to see how many of our Juniors will play in A Grade Premiership sides in a decade or so!! Great night back at Demon land last night. Well done Langy & Lootsy & team. The boys need bigger wardrobes now to accommodate their extensive array of Premiership T Shirts. Oldies like Barry McDonald happy tohave the club record of 5 in a row taken over. Looking to break Victors record next season but will be up against it to match the national record. Have it on good authority that Tasmanian side Georgetown were at 7 in a row this year then won the premiership yesterday by 3 points to make it 8! We need some incentive to keep us going so maybe that is it. A bit sad that the season is over now. Hope all the winners enjoy the next few days safely. Well done to all the runners up. Know it's no concellation but you must be proud of the fantastic effort of all your teams to play so well and get sooooo close. Heartbreaking that there has to be losers after such great games.

Hudson.. I'm not sure whether your inferring that Georgetown in Tas holds national record for flags on the trot cos Cummins Ramblers on Eyre Peninsula I'm sure won possibly 12 on the trot. Definitely in double figures. That's raises the bar for you ;)

And also the hot chick in the BBQ van! I continually ate Bacon and egg sandwiches just so I could speak to her.
Oh yeah, and the footy was ok too.

In todays Sunday Mail took note that Victor Harbour requires A grade Coach so does this mean Ellis has been told to look for another Coaching position or stay as a player and is his brother dale now up for all clubs to haggle with. Think if Ellis has got the flick, his brother has also been shown the door (due to his arguing with team mates)

Interesting comment Micky. Talking to Chris Hams on Saturday, he was happy that McLaren had borrowed the Booze Van (Thanks , by the way) so the players couldn't take their customary roof rides etc.
It was suggested to keep it ay McLaren for a couple of days....It was picked up pretty early by the Hamses yesterday!!!!!!!! Tradition must go on.
