AFL 2009 Preliminary Finals

Talk on the national game

In 1954 it was Footscray beat the Red Legs
And in 1966 it was Collingwood that was pipped at the post by a single point by St Kilda

Who's up next weekend?

But yes, it was a pretty pointless comment wasn't it?!

St Nick puts the Sainters ahead just that little bit more with his fourth, but the Doggies need two kicks (and one of them needs to be straight) to take this one out

There it is

Saints into their first Grand Final since 1997 with their best chance to win it since ... well, for a long time!

Final score
STK 9.6 60
WB 7.11 53

Will we get a rerun of 1966? Or will it be another classic grand final for the ages?!

Here are the AFL stats
And here are the Herald-Sun stats

Great match, guys ... bad luck Doggies

Carna Catters tomorrow night .. no one wants the Wobblers to get through!!! Not this year, otherwise I reckon they'll get it, whereas if the Cats get through , the Saints have a better-than-even chance at it
But yes, it was a pretty pointless comment wasn't it?!

Justice
Gianwhatsanameacuria was the one that bashed up Koschiswhatsanameake a few years ago
Tonight he missed the goal that could have won the game for the Doggies
would have been a 5 point lead late in that last qtr
The spirit of 66 lives on
The spirit of 54[?] does not

I'll put the links to the stats up at the end (they won't be 1/4-by-1/4 but there they'll be)

That's the goal that won it IMHO

Justice? The Dogs were a55 raped by the Maggots last night, have no forward line and coming off a shorter preparation for the game still almost won. The Dogs showed last night when you force the Contax defenders to actually defend they can't generate forward thrusts. Let's hope that Geelong and Collingwood, two teams who actualy play football go on to defeat Contax in the Grand Final.

Deja vu to last week. The Dogs controlled most of that last quarter but couldn't convert it to the scoreboard.

They need a forward line ASAP!!! I bet they go for Hall.
In between signatures .....
