England vs Australia-6th ODI

Postby Gozu » Thu Sep 17, 2009 5:49 pm

Is on tonight at around 10:30pm on both Fox & SBS. We're gunning for the clean sweep curently holding a 5-0 lead in this seven match series. It twas a bit odd Brett Lee was rested last match but given the heavy schedule perhaps acceptable. At the conclusion of this series we go straight to South Africa for the ICC Champions Trophy, a few of our players will be playing in the Champions League Twenty/20 in India and we also have a seven match ODI series in India too heading into our summer.

Siddle doesn't look like a ODI bowler and it would be good to see Lee back in tonight. The rest seems to have done wonders for Ponting who looks in magnificent touch since coming back but the end could be nigh for Michael Hussey.

If Australia wins 7-0[or when]
That would put AU on top of the ODI world ratings

England take their bowling power play with Hussey and Paine at the crease. Smart move from them but then Paine smokes one through the covers. Still the Poms have done the right thing in theory.

It has nothing to do with who was at crease. They took it at the first opportunity. It was just a bonus that paine n hussey are at the crease.
hussey and paine are both on track for a ton here.
I think hussey is looking ominous. he is charging and middling some balls.

Paine with his first ton in ODI's.
Great knock.

2/181 off 36 overs.

Hussey 50 odd not out.

For mine, take the power play in the next two overs. Paines role to get hussey on strike who is to smash em. Have plenty of wickets in hand to just go mad with the overs spare, against a sh*t bowling attack on a small over.

300 for mine minimum

AS I SAY HUSSEY HITS A HUGE SIX

Very Geoff Marsh like, it reminds me a bit of Krezja's 8 for. Good knock but if we went at that run rate we would've made around 225.

Good to see him get a ton but took his bloody time, he faced nearly half of the teams deliveries.

And if he didnt make 111 we would have made 186. Give the kid a chance, hasnt played 10 games yet and has scored a hundred, yeah not at a great clip but not bad either. If we lost you can have a dig at him but cricket is a game of results, and the only two that matter is Paine got a ton, and we won

Not sure if u have seen the innings there LM but it was an absolute cracker. He played some great drives throughout his innings. The balls he took to get his 111 may seem slow, but a bloke making heading for his first ton was very nervous in the 90s as you would expect. He was on 98 for 8 balls. He was in the 90s for around 25 balls i think.

In a one day game, u need a century maker and a support innings, with others coming in to smack the ball at over a run a ball...

prior is not a batsman. he is a keeper that can make a few. why he has been batting 3 and 4 i have no idea. he should either be opening with stauss and trying to take advantage of the hard new ball and the field up (but he is no way near gilchrist which they have not realised) or bat 6 and try and score a few at the end, altho the way ENG are going whereever he bats he will be in before the 30th.
