Lose the most overrated player in the game and probably get a pick in the 10-15 range.

Well that just shows you dont see anywhere near enough of him to comment.

There are dozens of players that are more over rated than Shaun. Ever see his ruck combination with Lade at work? One of the best pairings in the game in recent times, perhaps Shaun figures with no Ladey to spike tohe ball to him it might be harder to find.

Im upset that he is leaving but now the likes of Boak,Salopek,Gray,Broadbent get more of a chance to shine.

Do we now keep Pearce?

spot on, also wasn't said earlier in the year if my brother goes (for any reason) i'll go as well....or was that hearsay on the forum can't quite remember

offcourse there is another story going around but it is of a sensitive nature so i wont put it down in black & white

That rumour I can confirm is a load of bollocks. The incident said to have sparked it was unhealthy to say the least but since that day there has been no problems and all players are fine with what happened.

His loss will be in his bursts of impact around the ground. I don't think Port have another player who can burst from a pack like he can and this will be sorely missed I think... Also in a team that showed this year that their skills bordered on woeful his silky skills will be missed. I think his loss will be huge... not just by the fact they are losing a quality player but the impact that his desires to play elsewhere will have on the club and it's morale.
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

He'd probably be OK in another team with a bit more discipline.
Maybe the Crows would give Port Griffin for him if they threw in Salopek..
Better still - SB to the Bullies, Cooney to Adelaide, Griffin and Moran to Port?? ;)

He might join his brother in law (?) Stokesy at Geelong. Port can have Kane Tenace.

Yeah, because he had such a huge impact on our results this year didnt he! :?

It sucks but oh well, lets turn it into a positive. Use it to fill a gap in the squad and/or get another good draft pick. He hasnt been near his best for two years, if we can get something good out of it then lets move on and make it a positive.

Nick Stevens was a bigger loss than Shaun will be.

His skills and clearance ability will be missed. But as Booney said, no more Lade to tap it down his throat either. This could turn into a positive in that instead of our gameplan for the past 3-4 seasons revolving around on that combinantion winning us the ball, it will force the coaching staff to come up with hopefully an improved gameplan.

And yeah, while hes a loss, this gives Hartlett the perfect chance to prove himself. Top 4 draft pick, one of the best midfielders in the country in the underage comp....perfect opportunity for him.

If Port can work out a pick 9 + a player like Lewis or Thorp then it will improve the squad no doubt in my opinion.

This is an interesting one.

Bad luck for Port as they will miss him badly. Well he has put forward hawthorn, besides there first round pick, Mitch Thorp's name might prop up again. I believe some deal was put forward with Thorp and a later pick. But I cant quite remember the details.

The only thing I can say is that the Hawks on ball team was not there weakest link. They really should be looking at there backline where all the problems were.

This one will be interesting to see how it plays out.

There is no way in hell you will get pick 9 and Jordan Lewis for Shaun Burgoyne. You are kidding yourself if u think that.
i think ul find that Hawthorn would probably not even trade Lewis for Burgoyne, let alone there number 9 pick.
You may get thorp and pick 9 with the injury run he has had, but i think the Hawks really rate him and may want something in return with a pick, instead of just Burgoyne.
The best chance for mine is for Taylor and Hawthorns second round pick to Port in exhange for SB

Throp and pick 9, I would have thought they would get Thorp and there 2nd round pick.

It is more of a possibility than you would think. It will involve at least pick 9 and dont be surprised to see a player attached as well.

So a ruckman who most Hawthorn supporters dont rate and a pick in the 20s. Nice one
