Nic Jericho - HWE U17's, Luke Tassell Two Wells 2nd

Birchy? Mallala won U14s, Dylan Wise 2nd (Two Wells)

What were everyone's thoughts about the medal count last night. I thought it was very much a let down, I only went to listen to Sheeds but came away disappointed.

How was that bloke from Burley footballs? What a peanut!

Yeah peanut alright, think he enjoyed a few $4 brews thats for sure, mean while, if he was playing "dont forget the lyrics" im not sure that he'd walk away with much cash! wierdest 5mins of my life. Did I tell you abou thte time I played cricket?

It was a near death experience

Minn has been very ordinary this year, evidence of that was in the B grade on Saturday, I thought the two that did the A grade on Saturday were the very good and should get the gig again on Saturday

In the words of John McEnroe - "you can't be serious" - I would agree with MC - the 2 on Saturday just not up to the biggest game of the year (surprised they got the Prelim actually). One of them struggles to even know the rules he is supposedly adjudicating. Whoever it is needs to be consistent and un-seen.

What happened in the B's prelim Swamp?

Any event run by our inept president is bound to descend into the farce that it was Sat night. And how unprofessional were all the mistakes on the power point presentation, none bigger than announcing the runner-up of the A Grade goal kicking was Sam Jericho from HWE, when anyone who's read the Producer in the last 10 weeks would have known that it should have been Daniel Thomas. I hear North Eastern league have got their count tonight, which to me seems like a better idea than having it after a game, when some people have been there since 9:00 supporting the junior colts, and they hadn't even started the A Grade medal count by the time I left at 11:00? It makes for a VERY long day, especially with the lovely weather we had Sat.
What about pissed fatso Shippy struggling to climb onto the stage instead of using the stairs? That was a visual I'd like to remove from the memory bank! Having said all that, the meal and the people that served it were fantastic, and Sheeds always commands attention, but seriously Buschy, shut the duck up and get on with it! It's not all about you! Not even a little bit.

Here here !!

What about the crap that appeared in the "President's Report" in the Informer for the first and second semi? Congratulating Virginia A & Bs on making the finals - WHAT ABOUT EVERY OTHER SIDE! Is he supporting their methods of popping up every few years with a bought side? He, as President should be supporting the clubs that are working on their own talent, e.g. Hamley, Balaklava - it's not all about just making the finals - it's about sustaining the league.

He should have said something like - well done Balaklava and Hamley, promoting your youth - didn't make the finals but a great investment in the future. Inept - yep .

Watching the game Saturday, I thought they were pretty good given I didnt notice them...usually a good sign! Allyward had been pretty good for most of the year, agree that Prousey is prob not the man for the job and I'd also go with BJ. So its BJ and Allyward for me this weekend in the big one!

hmm the B grade.......... pretty ordinary showing again from the Magpies Jumbo, disappointing given the talent in that team, but some good finals experience for the young blokes all the same. The B's have been around the mark for a couple of years now, but just cant seem to take the next step. Did you have some thoughts on it Jumbo?

I think its a case of Donkey playing the percentages Jumbo. He's probably figured that the same two umpires have done the A's for 2nd semi and prelim so he expects to get them to get the gig again in the GF. I see this as nothing but Donkey trying to blow wind up the umps' arse to earn a soft free kick! :D

Your B's struggled for goal scorers, and the bigger Balak bodies caused you some grief. Just need to stick to the formula - the lads will be better for the experience. As I said up the page, it's an investment in the future for the club.

I was more interested in your opinions on the B umpires - from your post it read as thought Min had made some mistakes.

Have to agree with the meal there Jack. Well done to every one from Two Wells who helped out on the night. The meals came out quickly and its not easy serving them hot when there is a large amount of people but I must say all three of my courses were very hot so well done.

I personally thought Buschy was ok Saturday night, except for him calling the umps white maggots all night. We have just had a massive publicity run about public/crowd behavior towards the umps through the Producer and the Informer and had the message rammed down our throats that abuse will not be tolerated. To have the President referring them to white maggots and Tallboy as Cheif maggot on the biggest night of the year all night is clearly double standards.

What have I learnt from this? It is perfectly acceptable to call the umpires white maggots and nobody from the board can do a thing about it to stop you.

I'll stand by that one MC. I think its all opinion based on how our/your team has faired with the umps over the year. IMHO Alleyward has been good, wait..... maybe I should see how many votes SD polled in the medal.........hhmmmm bring back Steve Bawden

I'd be surprised (and even more impressed with Sheeds) if he was only $1000, I think Sam Newman is about triple that.

One tip for the next club to host the medal, get rid of the balloons! great for finding your clubs tables, but id rather see sheeds than 50 helium balloons!

Yeah it went really well. Quite a good turn out also.

The players, sponsors and supporters seemed to respond well to what he had to say, which is a really good start.
