If so, what's the difference?
The fact that there's free parking ay Footy Park should be enough for most, but I'm sure there are legitimate exceptions.

Because the other grounds are serviced by adequate public transport. Maybe I'll just have 12 beers and take advantage of the free parking.

So there's a a direct bus from where you live to every suburban ground? I'm just assuming that most people have a car and would drive and note that there may be legitimate exceptions, which you are suggesting.
There still buses to Footy park, but just the regular ones.

I intend to drink at the game so I'll be bussing it - one bus into town and another one (#139?) out to West Lakes. A fair bit of travel, particularly on a Sunday with less frequent services. Adelaide Oval is much easier of course as virtually everyone can get into town on a single bus/train/tram then it's just the walk down to the Oval. Bring on the city stadium for footy/soccer/other sports I reckon.

I miss the old 340 bus which used to go Marino to Port Adelaide via Marion, Glenelg, Henley Beach and Westy Lakes. It appears I might have to get a cab.. I can picture it now "where is football park sir? please direct me!"
