Weslo Wallys...

Postby LPH » Mon Sep 14, 2009 2:18 pm

Just wondering if anyone else had the 'odd issue' with the Weslo Nazis yesterday?

A mate & I prefer to stand @ the footy.

We were standing (admittedly in the 'no standing zone' where the disabled seats are @ Northern End - next to the Members Fence).
As you know, the early game had VERY FEW spectators & where we were, NO Disabled Supporters until one bloke on his 'gopher' turned up @ 1/2 time.

A Weslo Wally (clearly with nothing better to do), continually told us we needed to stand in a 1m square Yellow box @ the back because "These are the rules".
When we decided to question this, he called the cops (who I might add, when they arrived, laughed & said "There are so many people here too").

I can understand if there were 15, 000 people there or even 2 or 3 disabled persons in the area, him wanting to enforce his 'rules', but...

As for having to use a cover on my beer & a f***ing STRAW, they can't be serious !!!

Is there any wonder that SANFL Fans refuse to go to Footy Park, when Weslo Nazis act like this?

Also, when it started raining in the 3rd term, people wanted to move to the Concourse, under cover until the rain passed & were refused.

FFS !!!???!!! Am looking forward to next week, NOT !!! Get your act together SANFL !!! 8)

Perhaps the Weslo bloke doesn't like Fulham supporters ;)

God awful place AAMI.

Ditto from me.

Was told;
-not to swear (although the little Indian gentleman was very polite about it)
- stay in my yellow box if I want to stand
(god forbid you put a foot outside the yellow line)
- keep a lid on my beer if I want to bring it back to my seat

Think I would rather watch at Adelaide Oval, even without facilities.

Only redeeming feature of AAMI is its very nice having a BBQ under the trees out in the car-park. Should have stayed there, listened on the radio and got my binoculars out and watch it on the big screen.

.....or stay home and abuse the television and spill beer all over the lounge.
Then have to answer to a much worse Nazi. :(

Must have been impossible for you to move a couple of metres to avoid the whole situation?

It's not like there were lots of people there or anything.

The Welso Guys were absolutely stupid. I asked one if it did start to rain if we could sit in the stands and he said it was ok, but as soon as he had left and when went to sit up there. God forbid if we were allowed

That's fair but, the loonacy of the situation is this...

Stand in the 'Yellow Box', run to seat, sit down & drink some beer thru a straw, run back to Yellow Box...

Please !!!

Ok, I'll give you that ... security at Adelaide Oval on the hill for international matches is the same though.

It's like white line fever with some of these guys, they love to be in control.

The signs around the bars ask you to have a lid on your drink until you get back to your seat to avoid spillage - perhaps being able to read isnt a prerequisite to "work" for Weslo.

Hahaha. I had the same problem at the Southern End. Maybe the "Weslo Nazi" was covering some serious territory.

AAMI stadium staff weren't much better. Had to have a 40 minute discussion just to let us get the banner into the ground. This was at 9am when hardly anyone was there and they we're worried about us hurting someone. Their first answer was to put it in the AAMI stadium basement until just before the start of our game, then walk it around through the masses.
Not to bright I guess considering there would then be a hell of alot more people to injure  .

Must admit we arrived at Footy park the Tables were set up and no Weslo guys to check my back pack .
I could have sneaked in with Flares Bombs or what ever .Perhaps they were having a team meeting over voice and his Teams banner ;)

Good point ... easy to smuggle and light flares but don't dare have a beer without a lid.

Although they are there to provide a security service, I still find them to be absolute a*seholes. Give them any excuse, no matter how pathetically small it is, they'll have you.

How piddly? "Sir... you're a millimeter outside the standing area" piddly.
ARRIVE... RAISE HELL... LEAVE.

Should've told them it was a Crows CS practice run.
