Some real silliness in this thread. Remember at the start of the season most of you tipped the Crows to finish outside the 8? We couldn't beat the top 4 sides all season, why is it so inexcusable now that we've lost to one of said top 4 sides in a final? We are only going to get better from here.

What did Alan Scott say about Choco?
I don't think Alan Scott or anyone expected Choco would get the Power into the finals regularly either - and he doesn't...

I dont think Craig needs to go, just needs to stop being stubborn and change his game plan, its a good game plan to make the finals but not good enough to win a flag...maybe he just wants to make teh finasl and keep his job?

I think he more or less admitted that this year and made changes, but perhaps several matches into the season was a bit late for this year..

no s@&t idiot!!! of course adelaide supporters would be praising the whole team and coaching staff! but they lost and we cant help that. but if they could they would have prefered rutten not to go up for that mark and give away the free kick! that is footy and it could of happened to any player and any coach!!!!!

You should be used to losing anyway. Typical Adelaide supporter. Just telling it how it is, no wonder you won't get anywhere. No need calling me an idiot, you make yourself look the fool as you regularly do.

All I'll remind you of the guidelines posted at the top of the page when posting in here. This is not the place to heccling or sledging each other. Go to the normal AFL area to talk about that stuff.

Cheers

Why is it that whenever the Crows don't win the flag, it's apparently the fault of the gameplan and no chance that the team itself isn't good enough? Crows will only trend up from here anyway, really tiring of these kneejerk calls, all coming from the same people who will pile the praise on when this young group delivers a premiership.

easy to sack the coach after a loss 1 free kick n this topic would still be back in Feb where it belongs.

Terry Wallace

I would be happy to make a scape-goat out of Craigy if I could clear my mind of all the set shots we missed. Especially in the second quarter. And then if I could clear my mind of the terrible disposal in the 3rd quarter.

Even if there were some coaching blunders I can't escape the feeling that the lads blew it, as hard as that is to say.

Losing Knights on a 30 degree night was telling and even Malthouse said losing a player early in a final can be crucial.

What else to do now than come big faster and stronger next year?

well said. Craig is a super coach and the crows have had a super year. I dont think the crows list is in the top 8 in the comp and they arent good enough to be in the top 4. Once again this year, the results will back this up- Does it need to be analysed any more deeply than this?

Just got into the office this morning to read through some of the weekends posts. This thread has is a classic.

As I have said before and many have already said here, Craig is a great coach who will win us a flag. The players lost the game on the weekend, not Craig. End of story.

And until someone comes up with a valid alternative to Craig, the 'sack Craig' movement carries no weight whatsoever. I mean Terry Wallace FFS?? That's the funniest thing I've heard in a loooooooong time.

Good on ya Craigy, you've got the boys up and about and had a super year. Bring on 2010! :D

Cheers mate no probs, I actually think our list is top 8 but not top 4, but will be interesting to see how that develops next year with further experience in the kids vs loss of veterans.

Pretty good post.

I can't say with any feeling of certainty, whether I think Craig will or won't win the Crows a premiership, I think that can only be answered when you get your cattle and system to a high enough level, which whilst presently close, is not there at the minute.

If Craig gets them to a Grand Final with a team that is legitimately good enough and then fails, only then can I think he wears criticism.

Sat nights game could have gone either way, and a great deal of Adelaide supporters somehow overlook the fact that Collingwood are a quality side, whoever lost that game was going to be devastated - As the Bulldogs were in 97, this time it was Adelaide's turn.
