I think Glenelg supporters are clutching at straws with the Gowans comment. It was made in a motivational speech to the players. Todd made his in a media interview with no results to back it up. That is dumb.

Would the Bays supporters rather have Glenelg play Central or Sturt next week ?

Yes but with a chuckle and followed immediately up with platitudes towards the Dogs for being the best.

I've kept my mouth shut all year on this one (Toddy's comments). If people want to look at part quotes by players or comments by players to cetain audiences in isolation well good on them....

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The team that wins the qualifying final whoever that is and now we know it's Central ... no problems with that at all.

My mistake.

I admit I didn't see that. I turned the coverage over about 2 seconds before the comments. Still no comparison to Grima last year.

Maybe the Dogs can get "They'll be sh*tting themselves" printed up on Tshirts for GF day.

p.s. I didn't think the bays supporters were lip readers.

Bullcrapppppppppppppppppppppp Dedja

As Billy once sang
''Most people I know'' ....that barrack for GL would have hoped they were playing ST this week
As they did this time last year

Remember 2008
CD beat ST by a bees dick in the same final
CD oblierated GL the week after

No doubt there will be supporters and the GL hierachy saying the old ''we dont mind who we are playing ...etc etc..."
very NOBLE indeed
but give them a lie detector ....

If we are talking about this decade, North also did in 2006 on the 2nd of September.

Seeing the Bays will almost undoubtedly play in the GF, I predict that Bays supporters are more likely to wanting to play Central for revenge purposes, and the practice...of course they would prefer to play Sturt in the GF.

I reakon most other SANFL club supporters would prefer a Sturt v Glenelg GF. I think the SANFL itself would prefer Centrals there.

The day Jonathon  Giles dropped that mark v NW in the last qtr
dear oh dear oh me a smithfield crash clanger
What an embarrasment
But today
Jonathon Giles took that mark and kicked that goal
The Toyota award of the day oh whatta feeling
Well done to JG great effort to do that 8 days after the NW effort
The err pressure of beating NW in the minor round exceeded him, but not today in a lesser important final ;)

pigsh*t Mal!

Should we just bow in awe and give the dogs the flag?

To win this year the Bays have to beat Central sometime in the finals anyway, so why the big deal?

No, it really doesn't matter who the Bays have to play ... you can believe what you want. ;)

Difference Gowans comments was directed towards his players and was not meant to be quoted by the media, unlike Todds comments last year.

Either way, if both Glenelg and Central need other player comments to motivate them for finals football there is something wrong with the SANFL.

If Todd Grima didn't make his comments last year do people think that Central would have been happy to lose last years GF.

Should be dropped for life. Not the first time his decision making has influenced a game

No, the players make these comments so that we on this site have something to talk about. ;)
