You cant wing tackle a bloke and not let him go to the contest with only one arm, who is to say he wouldnt of marked it if he had both arms free?

As a supporter of neither side and a supporter of extra time I'd like to thank both teams for the great game of footy they put on tonight, I only watched the first and last quarter but thoroughly enjoyed them. Was looking forward to a Crows v Cats Prelim as both teams play a very exciting brand of footy but wasn't looking forward to the traffic on the road next week if that happened so I coudln't lose. ;)
Will we see 3 more games like that?
Well, as a Cats supporter I hope there's only 1 more close one, that's the St Kilda v Bulldogs game! ;)

Tippett got 2 free kicks in the final quarter and both were there but they were more iffy than the last one Collingwood got.

Mate, best you leave for the night. The sun will still come up tomorrow. Our 2 middle quarters were pathetic and they cost us.

fair enough, cant argue with that. im just a poor loser i guess. anyway go u cats.

I agree with you on this to a point but if a free kick is there it does need to be paid. My problem is that i feel there were plenty of obvious ones all night that the Crows should have received that were overlooked and very few missed for the pies. I am not a supporter of either side and really couldn't care less who won but i think the Crows got a pretty rough deal from the umpiring. Having said that they also missed some shots at goal they shouldn't have in the second term that would have put the game out of reach so they only have themselves to blame.

Stop being a typical Cows fan and blame your team for the loss. They were 5 goals up for christ sake

most of us agree that to the letter of the rules of the game it was a free, HOWEVER, if every technical free kick was paid every game there would be 150 frees given per game but doesnt happen, so working on that preface to pull that one out at that stage of the match in the area it was given is astounding

What about Tippetts then on the 50m line that he kicked a goal from? he was over the ball to technically he was still in possesion, yet it was given

swings and roundabouts, better off worrying about things you can control, like being 5 goals up and trying to hold the lead when there is still 90 minutes of footy left....

No probs. I was probably in the same boat last week when Carlton lost in kind of similar circumstances. Although, the difference was that the game wasn't decided by a free kick, it was decided by some sheer brilliance by Bradshaw. Probably a bit easier to take when it's like that.

Dutchy the defensive stuff happened after Collingwood had hit the front. TBH, I think it did actually take the heat of the game and we got back on track in the last 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter.

We squandered the lead because we dropped off the intensity, missed easy shots at goal and dropped our disposal skills. Also, Collingwood stepped it up as they were always going to eventually.

Whether it went on too long in that 3rd quarter is a good question. Once we started running again we looked like we could win again.

Maybe Craigy should have backed himself in for a shoot-out because they were always going to tire before us with the 6 day break.

The other point to note is that Rutten has said on radio a few times that it's actually the players on field who make the call themselves to slow things up.
In between signatures .....

I'm still amazed by the game.
Two sides just throwing everything at it.

You are kidding right? The one decision didn't cost the Crows the game. What cost them the game was Craig choking in the third and going defensive rather than backing the style of play that got them the five goal lead. People have to stop calling last minute decisions and saying that cost a team the game. Adelaide were up by 5 goals, they lost the game in the third, not the last. The Tippet decision was correct, the Anthony decision was correct.
