EP Sport - back with a vengeance

Talk on any country footy league or club from the SA Country area

C'mon WCP - being a dad has made you feel old!
Comp proper is starting pretty much everywhere over here, but I must admit: when I played footy then cricket, it didn't seem like there was time to scratch yourself inbetween seasons.
Can you run just one cup, throughout the season, with the occasional Sunday game, with the best placed teams in a GF near the end of minor round of normal comp?
Forgive me if this IS actually the case, my memory isn't serving me that great, too many big weekends!

spoke to the GM about the amount of cricket and he said " There delegates voted for that amount of cricket..... tell them to winge to them......" he also added " Tasmans are my tip for the Club Challenge.....if Smith, Hogan, Ryan, Gourlay and Greasy run hot they will win".

Charlton got ripped of by the council with their training faciliy, hard to atract players now.... its 100% councils fault.... its affected the club hugely..... any comments bystander????

Absolutely, a token $500 was give to us by council, didn't even give us a chance to get our catching rack, when i quized Ray Carr he said "don't know anything about it", yet he was there on the day. :( :( :( It's hard enough to hang on to current players with substandard facilities, let alone attract new ones.

Might cover the opening ceremony for new nets, that's about it tho. oh no, hang on, we've spent $330/year since leasing the high school, and that doubled this year to $660.
Having said that, Burfitts grand project is finished, he has moved on, and we are now in negotiations with council to build new nets at Nelson Square at Kirton Pt.

Sudsy it's been a long winter of lazing about so I'll be looking to hit boundaries to limit the amount of running required.
So will you be playing more then a handful of games this year or off fishing again?? Well done to T Dodd for staying at Tasmans after missing the G/F last year.
Pretty happy the weather has cooled down for the first game. Will Centenary oval be up to scratch for this season, Eags ??
Eags, Was that pool that opened the batting and made a few last week for tumby, the same guy that played in the EP side last year?? ? Good start to the season if it was.
So is the WCP playing the first game?? How is Jules Doudle leg coming along? Will he play later in the year? No worse injury then a snapped achilles and that's talking from experience.

Heading down there now AG and might spend a few minutes in the middle soaking up the sun!!
Will report back soon and hopefully they have the grass cut to a reasonable level so scoring will be easier then in the past. Nothing worse then smashing a cover drive for a single.
