As for south, teams from Div 2 coming up to div 1 it seems that one of the sides has done well and made the finals and the other team being promoted has been very ordinary, always hard to judge hopefully with a few inclusion this season we hope our side will be stronger then last season but who knows with injury and form.

Is Bomber staying J07??

no which is something we knew pretty well after our last game, good bloke to see go and it was a good three year stint for us and im sure he enjoyed his time aswell. Hes the only lose for us.

Has it been decided yet whether your comp is using "mycricket" this season?

Do you know if that will be for clearances aswell, both in and out of the Barossa comp?

I don't know the official policy, but I've seen some clearance requests bouncing around the MyCricket system, so some clubs are using it already.

"Mycricket" is excellent, as long as everyone knows how to use it properly, it's pretty frustrating when there's some clubs that aren't using it.

I agree .... our clubs been using it for a few years and it does a really good job. I tink with all clubs being asked to use it now it could help lift the profile of cricket in the Barossa, as the local papers are aware of it and in the past have been known to download match results directly from it.

That's the key to it, very frustrating with novice operators.

Its only a educated guess, but I'd suggest A1 BLCA is a few steps above div 4 PDCA, so I'd gues hes being a little liberal with the truth.

He sells himself pretty well though. I guess Sandy Creek will give us a fair indication of the standards between the two comps.

True.
Mind you when Centrals and South came across they both sold themselves as being very strong in PDCA. I dont remember what div's they were playing in when they came across though.

Sandy Creek seem to have their s***t in order though, so I'm thinking they should be a stronger club than either of the Gawler sides were when they came over. Generally they have struggled to be competitve in A1's since coming over with (I think) one finals appearance (by South) in their years of BLCA.

South Gawler won division 2 in their final season of PDCA, they were pretty ordinary though, Eastern Park had a bad day and lost what they should've won easily. At that time SGCC were held together by about 3 good players, Hilly held their batting together and they were light on in the bowling department.
SGCC were lucky to be in the top 4, we should've knocked them off both times that year but got sucked in trying to smash their spinners out of the park as we had to play one-dayers twice against them due to weather.
I can't remember what year GCCC went across, the last I remember from them they were struggling big time in Grade 2, once Kingy and Ben Dieckmann were out, the show was over.
At least Sandy Creek were competitive in Grade 1 last season, I'm sure even they'd admit that they under-achieved, they will be a good measuring stick.

Don't remind me, i played in that GF we had South Gawler 5/15 then i think his name was Hogan hit a 100 and the Shannon Noll look a like belted 80 odd that got to 300+ and we were never in it.

I've heatrd on the grapevine that Sandy Creek are already out and about trying to poach players from other BLCA clubs.

Also sounds like they havent made much of a start on turf pitch yet ....

The one player we have from another BLCA wanted to come to us. Also his son wanted to play cricket with all his mates at Sandy so it made sense for him to come across too.
As for the pitch yes you are right nothing been done yet but it is out of our hands. Waiting for the clay to be dug up

The player I am talking about definitely is not playing for you this coming season ... but he was definitely contacted. (I'll leave it at that)

I've heard there is delays in clay due to wet weather. It 'probably' means no turf cricket at Sandy Creek this week.
