At least this game shows that Mannum is capable of matching Imps, a home grand final for the Roos could result on a decent game. That is if they beat Ramblers this week. For those that saw the Ramblers/Jervois game, did the Chooks have a few of their key players back?

Re umpires issue, i reckon with the grand final being a one off game, it could be a good idea to get umpires from the Hills or GSFL.

Ramblers were too good on the day. Most of there names were back in. Ramblers started well, we got back to a couple of points down. The last 10 mins in the second hurt us, they kicked 4 goals which we couldnt get back, also our delivery to our fwds wasnt the best. We had a crack but there stronger bodies broke tackles etc. Good experience for the young players Robinson, Cobbles, Cheso, Wells, Pete Z, T.Kluske etc.

Stupid idea.... and for 2 reasons:

1) where is the reward for umpires who work hard all year, travelling etc... Umpiring a GF to them is like winning one as a player... Would you play footy all year long, for the club to import an entire side to play in a GF... Of course not... And why would anyone keep umpiring (or become an umpire for that matter) if there was no prize to aim at???

2) umpiring styles differ from league to league. Both GF sides would have made it to the GF dealing with the standard of umpiring they have had all year. Those parameters have been inplace since round one. If external umpires come in and umpire in a different style, that could jepordise a teams 8-10 months of hard work, for no reason at all...

And whos to say they would be impartial anyway...

It might be "stupid", but the RMFL does have issues with umpire numbers and to remove perceptions of bias it may be something that needs to be looked at. I'm just putting it out there as something that could be an option.

Has been suggested before, and exactly what Liquid Confidence put up was the reason why it never happens. It is the umpires GF as well....

I noticed the RMFL site updated with match results and a summary of the weekend's senior games:

http://www.rmfl.com.au/

I noticed this sentence:

"There is a question mark hovering over Jervois with Sam Mahony stepping down as Coach".

Not sure if this means he'll continue as a player at the Bloods or will look at coaching elsewhere..

Heard he was going back to just being a player. Will make his life a lot easier not having to worry about both while he can still play.

Does anyone have a list of the top 3 players from each club from the past decade? I believe they were announced at the Medal Count last night.
