So it could be:

Jeff Brown (Central's reserves coach)
Mark Tylor (Port reserves coach)
Paul Jarvis (Sturt's reserves coach)

Mick Godden (Glenelg reserves coach) is off to the NT so it can't be him...

Or it could be any of the Under 18's coaches whose sides are playing finals (Tony Bamford at Port, Grant Coffee at Centrals spring to mind)

But is more than likely to be...

Mark Jeffries, current Eagles reserves coach

He's been mentioned before ... Mick Godden ... but he's signed to go to NT after the GF this year.

The latter 2 seem to be the only ones who fit the veiled winks and nods provided over the course of this thread.

Bit like a game of chess this.

I think its now a race in 4 , with only one from over the border and 3 locals . A decision maybe even tomorrow , but who knows how long the Board will try and keep it under wraps ! I have been told again that the quality is a nice fit for what the club was after ........

They wouldn't release the name until the Club has finished in the finals IMHO.

My tip is the announcement will be made before 21/9/09.

Whether the Eagles are still in the finals or not.

Every other club has had every other finals side has only played for four weeks tops.

I don't think it can be N. Bassett as it was annonced on 7 news, that he is going to be the Norwood coach even if it hasn't officially called by Norwood yet.

My mail is Bassett is pretty close to be over the line at Norwood, and that (as mentioned previously), Godden is the next Eagles coach - I've had this from two very knowledgable sources now.

As with all rumours, I guess we just wait and see, but I think MG will indeed be at Oval Avenue next year.
