Ahh happy to be corrected. Couldn't see the kick from my spot but saw Aarod getting the pats on the back, assumed it was him.

Oh well, captain's goal/coach's goal -perfect timing for either.

A good case for all indy GF to be played at Berri
What do other indy clubs think ?

Would be a good case for all Gf's to be played at Berri. Fat chance of all the other RFL clubs agreeing to that though. Too short sighted to know whats good for the players and supporters.

Has been the "X" factor for the Rovers this year both up forward and in the midfield. What a star!

well superstar come up with an equatible, sustainable model for that to happen an I'm sure clubs will listen and progress.

A brilliant contest. Going down until the dying minutes with the Swans getting up by two goals.

Not often that the best two players on the ground in the grand final are on the losing side. Schulz and Evans absolutely outstanding today.
Swans just had that bit more depth across their team.
Coach Westley stepped up to the plate to kick the goal that broke the deadlock with about 90 seconds left. But...was it touched? Not sure but it didn't matter as the Swans scored again after the siren to inflate the margin.
Wunkar dogged (pardon the pun) all day. Their desperation and commitment to team play kept them in the game and almost had them take the victory. A bit more composure in the dying minutes could have seen them hold the lead and win.
Dean Hill good up front for the Swans - but did give away many free kicks.
Steve Lehmann was the absolute forward star. Taking some good grabs and kicking five (IIRC) goals.
Crouch did a good job on Lippis early but tired late.
And speaking of Lippis, did he give the fingers to the crowd after kicking the final goal?
Jason Goodes showed why he should be playing A grade footy with a dashing rebounding game for the Dogs.
Nick Allen was superbly redoubtable in defence.
Portolesi played a great game for the Swans too - had a tough job in the ruck. His tackle on a rampaging Schulz in the second quarter on the Swans' forward flank was a massive highlight.
Bloke cops a lot of flak but did a fantastic job for the winners today.
The difference? Not much. I think the midfield was fairly even.
If anything - Paringa's forward line was a little more dynamic and took most of the opportunities presented.
It was a tough loss for the Dogs. They didn't deserve to lose.
Massive crowd today - I'm not sure where all of the Dogs support came from but it was there in force.

Two sides of the coin - Schulz in his third losing GF for the Dogs (99/00/09).
Westley played in two straight losing grand finals for Lyrups and then wins a flag this year.

Well done Swans, worthy winners.

Awesome game, no it wasnt touched (no bias), incredibly it cleared the pack by just inches, i got a perfect view of it.

Westley played in THREE losing GF's in a row, 2006 with the Swans also.

Schultz was unconsoleable after the game, i've played on him for years and hardly saw a better game from him. - (IMO)

He had to have had 35 touches at least, took 15 marks, won every hit out and i think he kicked 3 or 4 goals as well. How the hell he wasn't BOG or even best for his team is beyond me.

As for Arrod again, has there been a younger Coach of the Year/Premiership Coach?

Also his 3rd premiership with the Swans and Dave Heinrich equals the great Haystacks record of 4 Premierships with the Swannies.

And SOMEBODY HAS TO SAY IT, SO I'M GONNA - What a great year of footy finals, No Waikerie or Cobby in the GF's and Port never even made finals.

I'd say they will be going for the team that doesn't have the stroker at Full Forward.

Its good to have personalities in the game, otherwise local footy will become robotised like the AFL and people wont come and watch.

A lot of people have said to me lately they'd rather go and see a "real" game of footy locally than the powderpuff stuff on TV. I suppose it comes down to the weather and expendible income each week.

Still, the game is better with characters like Lippy in it, and he does have talent, its just no-one likes a bighead and geez, we've all been one of those at times. Maybe he'll learn one day. But i hope he keeps playing, he's an ornament to the game - or a trinket at least :)

Dam good game at Waikerie on Saturday - the mighty rovers were all over their opposition. Only third qtr they dropped their intensity - but other than that a very impressive performance - now I look forward to rounding up some crew- hiring a bigger bus & heading on up for the GF. GO YOU ROVERS!!!!
I must say for a Waikerie home game - the home crowd excitement/noise was a bit low, would of expected them to yelling the leafs of th trees - anyway just a comment.
See you all next week Renmarkians & well done again - NOW SMASH LOXTON!!!!!! :butthead: :drinkers:

were paringa too tired after the game to tidy their changerooms? left in a dsigraceful state, too an hour to tidy the crap up. CN if any of the paringa boys are looking for hats, shoes, shirts, shorts or socks tell them to check the dump cause i was so pissed off i threw it all out infront of paringa supporters (told them to tell the players too)
also the umpires rooms were filthy. like i dont have enough shit to worry about and tidy up after such a massive croud i have to look after a footy side and a heap of umpires who dont have the common decency to tidy up after themselves.
CN remember what i said i was going to do in paringas rooms if ours wasnt tidied?

That's a fair response.

Have they regrouped from the dismal finish to the season RW?

I think they proved that last week

I don't.

You can't win it every year mate. You blokes won't know what to do with yourself this weekend. I know a few of the boys are having a massive saturday drinking piss on the river wich sounds good. I had to put my apology in because I am off the grog until Sunday.
