It's a grand 'ol flag, it's a high flying flag....

Seriously though if we want to be a serious finals contender Norwood winning today should be immaterial in the big scheme of things. If we play the type of footy required to be successful in October we should win tomorrow regardless.

Just a note on Centrals though, didn't the Eagles pump Port by 15 odd goals in the last round on 1994 (cue Spelly), anyone want to remind me of the GF score again???

Centrals are still alive and anyone who takes them lightly over the next four weeks will get their ar5es kicked
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

It was Port who won the Round 25 contest in 1994, 18.14 to 5.10.

Pretty disappointed with Centrals at the moment. They need a big lift if they expect to play any part in the finals outcome.

The only positive I can take from the game is that we don't play small grounds well at all, and the finals are played on a big ground. I'm sticking with that to take into next week.

Don't worry too much about it Cennals a week is a long time in footy. Hopefully Sladey and James will be fit. Interested to Know how Havelberg went in the ressies.
Still p****d off with the SANFL for not giving a reason for the game change (other than the wedding). Now the bays have the advantage of knowing they have the minor premiership stitched up.
Next week hopefully history repeats!

Havelberg played three quarters then had his ankle/foot in ice bucket for last quarter.

Yes agree Centrals do not play the small ground very small.

Also how many times this decade have the Dogs lost 2 games in a row?

Another question what has Central's final round results been since 2000 fairly average IIRC?

Nason showed very promising signs :D but am definatley looking forward to getting Gowans and Slade back into that side next week.

Difference today IMHO was Norwoods ability to both stick tackles on their opposition while also being able to break tackles themselves.

Watch out Sturt the Dogs will be snarling, im pumped for next Sunday already.

What a completely disgraceful effort. Sure, we only lost by 6 points, but we never deserved to win the game or be that close. If Norwood had kicked straight earlier on, the game would have been over in the first 20 minutes. We were a complete rabble out there today, making numerous comical errors from pretty much everything Ryan Williams did (I can now see why the Power delisted him) to Giles dropping a sitter in the dying seconds that could have at least tied the game to missing EVERY shot that would have put us in front throughout the entire game . We also lacked intensity and at times it was questionable whether the players actually wanted to win. For some reason we rarely went in for the the second effort, so whilst we may have spoilt a Norwood mark, we allowed to pick up the easy crumbs and romp in to an open goal . Also when the pressure was on late in the game, we went into complete meltdown, refusing to man up and letting Norwood run the clock down . Once again, we seemed to be completely disinterested in the minor premiership .

Out of our four losses this year, interestingly two have been against sides that won't be in the finals.

The only two good things to come out of today were:
- Ben Nason, clearly our best player on his debut. Well done.
- It makes planning next weekend (where I plan to move into my house, go to Melbourne for the Crows and be back for the Centrals QF) so much easier.

Next week it's Sturt in the QF. If we play like we did today against them, we could see a result even more uglier than the Unley debacle....
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

It would be interesting to hear from people who have seen these sides a lot over the years.

1 - Centrals weren't switched on. I have no idea on stats but Chad the best of the bunch from Elizebeth

2 - Aish, vlatko, stopp - the best games I have seen these guys play

Gallagher was very good today.

Norwood took a lot of risk running through the centre and got away with it more times than not.

Will also add Andrew Hayes won't be playing for Central next week after his hit on that Norwood player.

If the game change you're talking about is from Sunday to Sat then I thought it'd be obvious of the previous possible clash with a Crows home final on Sat day/night. What's it matter? Sturt played today and Centrals played today, both get a good break and really, you were never going to get top spot anyway.

Highlight (football related) of the day was finally holding on to win a close one against the Dogs. Vlatko's mark in the dying seconds was a ripper as well.

The other highlight (non-football related) was the Central's psycho, short, fat, glasses, looks like a toad, who called my retired father a 'f**king old c**t' and said he was going to smash his face in as we left. Classy. :D

All in all a fun way to round off a terrible year.

I'm pretty sure the Crows played last night so not that obvious Cutterman. I think (could be wrong) the games were changed after the AFL games were known.
I guess I just believe in fairness and equity, at least as much as can be achieved. Last round games should always be played at the same time. Regardless of if we were going to get top spot or not, the Bays now know they definitively don't need to win. This situation could be made worse if a team was going for the double chance or fifth spot, and the results of two games came into calculations. This has happened before.
I thought it was obvious. Why didn't the SANFL give a reason. Last week the Central Sturt game clashed with the Power game.
