Talk on any country footy league or club from the SA Country area

B Burch whilst highly regarded and respected was never approached for a job at Hahndorf.
Hdorf's applications for new coach closed on 4/10. Onkas applications close 27/10 so long time before they appoint someone. Hdorf expect to appoint someone in next 2-3 weeks.
Flinny what I have heard is enjoying his footy at Mypo with the large & dry grounds and is likely to stay put there.
Well done to Matt Cooper for 2nd SANFL premiership and also Tate Kaesler 3rd reserves premiership @ north.

Ron, you are kidding aren't you?
Are you saying, that if Mona stayed at Bridgey, he wouldn't have nudged your 'A grade' this season?
I'd say bridgey would have taken old, injury-prone, young anything, if it meant winning some games. They're not really in a 'choosy' position at the minute.

Mona (despite being a shanty) would have played in our A grade this season if he'd trained. Ron if you saw him play, you wouldn't be sledging him. He was the best player in the B Grade comp by a mile this year until he did his knee.

From the limited games I saw Mona was a bit of a force in the B Grade with his trickery. Shanty could have definitely used him. Then again they could have used a lot! Definitely an A Grade player.

What kind of club wouldn't let a player go if he wanted to? You'd have to be a complete peanut to refuse a clearance! How petty can you get, if a guy wants to go elsewhere then let him go!

Don't know if it's that clear cut, Bernie, especially for struggling clubs.
I guess you live in the hope that the player will eventually come around and consider staying.
I heard that if you play a season out of your original league, that you can come back and play for anyone, if you're cleared from that other league.

u have to play elsewhere for 3 years than you can come back to any club in the leauge. remember flynn wanted to go to magpies for more success and also as his cousin, dennis raymond was the coach. he is no longer coaching and although magpies played have had more success than shaanty, there not that fantastic. mona may have played allright in a good team but when he played for shanty which weren't the greatest side he was nothing. its not that hard to look good in a good team remember!

If a player doesn't want to stay its 99% likely if he isn't granted a clearance he either will move to another league or not play at all. So what is the point of refusing to release him? Even if you are a smaller, struggling club you are better off having someone who wants to be there instead of someone who doesn't! And it doesn't give your club a good reputation for attracting other players as well.

no club likes to see players who have come thru colts want to leave for money. think reasonable for club to say we will clear u but not to another club in our association. just wait to see if he will go and play for magpies in 2yrs when he can coz he wont!

i happened to run into flinny at the clare valley (he was on footy trip) and he said that he is happy where he is. also ran into the onka boys up there, some poor fella broke into a building site and cracked his head open!!!!! had to be air lifted to hospital. onka's will lose Rofe next year to norwood, possibly Klun? and just one more little rumor, we might one day see ron burgandy running around in the red and white........

DA.....I know we've put this issue to bed but thought id clarify cos didn't get my point accross too well... ArmyTank was spot on. Understand that certain parents aren't well behaved.. same wit all clubs.. and maybe the older rivalries do get ugly but none of the points u said were to do with the A or B grade. I was saying alot of the younger players in the senior teams are actually good mates and a real respect between the two groups. No ugly shennanigans. But yes your point with certain parents is valid as is the junior idiots who did the grafitti. And yeh premiership medallion.. well done.... bastard!! haha jealous. Lets move on ey

Anyone know the central div teams for next year? Are they all the same.. So much talk of birdwood coming up. Blackwood leaving, etc.??

Ron - I was under the STRONG impression your were a Raiders man. Is Yaked well off the mark or are you making your way to Devil PArk?
If Onkas lose Klun and don't get a gun replacement, they will be nowhere near the mark next year.

Winger - fair enough. My points were directed largely at the U17's from Ironbank. The Devils - Ironbank rivalry is gold, it's rivalries like ours that makes hills footy great.

Ron - we don't pay players, so you might as well stay with our d grade team!

Nice work talking about yourself Flinny.

Had everyone fooled for a couple of weeks.

Would have to get a fair bit fitter to get a game in our A's big fella, but we'll have ya!
