How are we going to afford anyone if the league have already reduced the Salary Cap?

Apparently that was supposed to stop "rorting the system"!

It just needs something along the lines of finding the right people for employment and paying them to pay the players pay there instead of directly from the club. :)

They will never stop salary cap cheating if i decided to go give Cicolella $1,000 tonight at the local pub because he was a nice bloke (not that i would or could afford to) there is not much chance if any the SANFL would ever find out about it.

Exactly. Clever accountancy or private donations will always win out. ;)

How many Central players get such payments at the pub? ;)

Having all player contracts available for public viewing would help though . Then if a club was low balling on an obviously top notch players contract , questions could be asked by the league auditors . The pub cash type payments cant be stopped . Pro sport in the USA have disclosed contracts for all to see and the sums of money involved here are not really worth hiding anyhow . If everyone wants to be honest , real honest , there are only 3 clubs the league needs to be interested in as of now ; Dogs , Bays and Roosters . ;)

My understanding is that non-football earnings (those that hit the books at least) are supposed to be taken into consideration with regard to the Salary Cap

My understanding is they are available and questions are asked. And I know players crossing from interstate have been interviewed about their remuneration.

Well then they should lie all they can because the Cap is too small as it is. The amount of time spent for little remuneration is a disgrace.

And no I am not talking about the highest paid player(s), I'm talking about your average earner.

No problem, you start the ball rolling by posting your employment contract on this site ... that's OK isn't it?

... and by the way, you seem to be having too much fun throwing mud at your own club to start throwing it at others VB Commodore. ;)

Not quite 2010, but looking ahead to the Elimination Final we could expect Salter, Stewart and Broadbent back in. As well Corbett should be available and Shirley would be a chance as well. Hentschel would also be an outside chance of returning at some stage depending on how far we or the Crows go and whether he's allowed to play for us.

I reckon we will have four inclusions of Salter, Stewart, Broadbent and Shirley.

My team:

FF: Goldsworthy Salter Passador
HF: McKenzie Grocke Symmons
C: Jarrad Shirley J Polec
HB: Petrenko McGregor Powell
FB: Stewart Hier P Fiacchi
R: Dabrowski Broadbent Cicolella
I: Miles Fairclough Allmond

Salter to play the true Full Forward role and Passador to float around 50. McKenzie to roam all over and spend time on the ball - hopefully not too much time in defence.

As for the outs, I don't think Treeby is quite ready and with a few other players who have had injuries he'd be the one to miss out. Daniel would be unlucky, he has performed well in the last month. Smith is not quite ready yet. Rimington also unlucky, but doesn't have the polish to play forward and his back position would be taken by Stewart. Also his discipline is still questionable IMO.

Heard a genuine whisper re-the possibility of Rick Macgowan returning from Hawthorn next season and could be potential senior coach at the Eagles. Is this old news??

Swamp Donkey this is old news. Eagles contacted him a fortnight ago and despite the rumours is quite happy to remain in Victoria.

My thoughts are that Passador is a full forward only and I'm afraid Salter gets this position before him. Must keep Treeby in the team for his skill and ability to turn a game, may play from interchange bench.
Rimington is a MUST for his hardness, voice and leadership. If Passador doesn't make it Hill is a must for the interchange, can play back or forward and has good form in the reserves. Unfortunately young Daniel and Polec don't quite make my team. Knowing Ron's penchant for youngsters to play in finals I'm sure one or both will play.

with the finals being played at footy park the young lads must play......

Allmond and Polec are running machines and will be suited to the bigger ground......

Sumner may be a chance too.....
